Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If he doesn't perform for us this season he won't be going to Man City and Erling Haaland will.

Wherever Kane may be employed, his form and fitness from August 2022 - December 2022 will decide his World Cup squad selection, not this season.

It's not 'a World Cup year'. He could have a poor season but providing he hits form for those months, he will be in the squad.

He could be injured for that time and this season will then be in the bank for how he looks.

I'm not talking about him being in the squad either, he will be in the squad either way unless injured. But if he has a shit season this season which costs him his move, believe you me how quickly people can fall in football.

A hypothetical, say Mason Greenwood has a breakout season for United and wins them the title and has belter of an 18 months, believe me, those 18 months will count if Kane has had a shitter or is injured.

And as for your pedantry, I've already corrected what I meant about world cup year.

Quite frankly, no amount of money is worth it at this late stage. Zero time to replace him and would only result in panic buys for inflated prices. We should be looking for a back-up striker for Kane (like we are every fucking season!). Get a move on people.

I couldn't give the end of the match my full attention but I was trying to see if Kane would put himself about a bit. You know one of those holding the ball up, getting kicked and winning a free kick up the field to ease the pressure on the defence type of situations.

Seemed to me that he was looking after himself a bit. I'd say Pep was terrified watching from behind the sofa!

I'd say there's some real nasty negotiations and maneuvering going on behind the scenes between Levy, City and Harry's agent.
Harry's agent appears to be a moron.

The problem I have is he never has to make do he can just go out and drop another 100m to fix a problem like he did last summer.
Yeah the biggest/richest teams will always be the ones spending big whenever they want. It doesn't mean pep is overrated. Fergie had more buying power than anyone else in the league for a long time. He hoovered up the titles. Nobody claims fergie to be overrated.
I feel a lot of the pep hate is more about a dislike of the way football has gone rather than being about him. He is the face of man city so bears the brunt of our displeasure of that club. There's no doubt he is a good coach and I'm sure if there was a poll on here asking if you could have any manager in the world, who would you take.....Pep would likely top the poll. Or at least second after Potter 😅

Man United never had a squad full of world class players like City do now.

Agreed about fergie. But also Pep has never done with an average team with average money. Theres no great achievement with winning with Messi, Iniesta, Xavi or Bayern Munich winning their league or Mancity over here. If/when he gets sacked and he decides he wants a real challange and goes for the 5th best team in a country and takes them to a league title, then we believe hes any good.

What makes city players world class? Perhaps their coach has something to do with it?
They didn't just buy a whole squad of world class players, he developed a lot of them.
I certainly have no love for city but I don't think pep is overrated
I do.

I remember reading about how when he was managing Barca he'd spend hours locked away in his office studying the opposition for weaknesses and dangers, and meticulously planning his tactical approach.

Which was essentially 'pass to Messi'.
