just read the Emerson wiki, supposedly Betis also have economic rights to him and he's at Barca for the next 3 seasons? also can a player be transferred permanently twice in a season or is this going to be another loan? strange setup

Paratici will cook tomorrow. Aurier out, Traore in, Emerson in and it will be OK.
Emerson, Traore, Romero, Gil, Gollini, Sarr would FAR exceed my expectations.

Not sure we could have done better for CB than a young Serie A defender of the year. Nuno’s magic (and the defensive play of Skipp, PEH, and Tanganga) seem to have transformed Sanchez so we only need one CB, not the two we all expected.

Gollini a strong backup keeper. No complaints there.

Sarr the kind of young player we always regret not buying young and letting him start for a year at Metz is probably good for us. May or may not work out, but I never expected this kind of forward thinking signing.

Gil looked brilliant in his last start and seems to be another exciting player for the future.

Emerson is probably a better RB than I expected and also young and promising.

The one missing piece right now is another player who puts pressure on the defense. Whether that’s a second true striker, a creative MF who can keep the defense on its heels with quick passes, a winger with a finishing touch, or an unstoppable tank to run up and down the wing and keep defenses pinned back and open space for Kane and Son doesn’t matter to me as much as finding one more guy. Traore fits that perfectly. I’d be happy with McKennie as a box to box midfield type who can make runs to the box and get into attack, but Traore is probably a more exciting signing.

And the fact that we will have landed all those pieces while getting younger and faster, hoping for this year and the future, far exceeds my tempered expectations.

Bring it home, Paratici.

Do you want another Running #10?

For reasons I do not understand, he seems to be determined to stay where he is.
I’ll readily admit I’ve quite enjoyed the speed of the front three in the 433. Less so with Harry’s return.

And with that I’m not sure where he’d fit, possibly useful versus teams where we need an intellectual pass or some smart movement off the ball

but you’re right seems happy to not make a fuss sat very deep on the bench

Everyone always pisses and moans about Levy not doing business early enough. Well, are you happy? Deadline day is here and we don't even have any solid and exciting rumours in the mill to go fucking bonkers about for 24 hours.

You've ruined Levy Day, bastards.

Striker situation at other clubs.

Chelsea have Lukaku. Is Werner any more of a striker than Son?

Everton have DCL. Kean has left. Is Richarlison any more of a striker than Son? Marginally.

Liverpool... Is Firmino a striker? What's Origi?

City have one striker and they play him RW. West Ham have Antonio and no backup.

I'd like another striker, but I don't think it's the calamity some make it out to be. What is a striker? I'd take Traore over a middling backup striker all day.
I actually think there's an argument that our best XI might with without Kane and with Son up top, depending on the opposition. In that lineup Traore on the right would be fun as fuck.

Werner isn't a starter and yes he is more of a striker than Son.

Everton is a making a bad move is that the team we want to emulate though?

Yes Firmino is a striker.

City with the way they play are fine playing Torres in the middle, if we switch to the style/ability to score from other areas then we can talk about being ok.

No reason we can't have a second striker and a mediocre player like Traore as well.
