Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Because the squad is the real problem. I’m glad we have gotten rid of NES because he was wrong on so many levels. But conte ain’t turning this lot into world beaters.
Levy isn’t changing his spending habits
So forgive me if I think it might just be another false dawn.
So much of how players are perceived is based upon a manager.

If I’d have said to you before Poch took over that Jan, Walker, Dembele and Eriksen would form part of a team challenging for the league and CL finalists (sans Walker), you’d have laughed in my face.

This squad is far, far from perfect. But it has 2 exceptional forward players in Kane and Son, a World Cup winning captain in goal, the Serie A defender of the year, and a EL winner who made La Liga team 2 seasons ago.

There’s reason for optimism even with this mixed bunch of players.

Even more importantly, we have a manager that really gets the best out of players. A manager that turned Victor Moses into a PL winner and won a record 30 league games with Cahill and Luiz at CB.

A manager that would often use a 36 year old Ashley Young as a starter in a Serie A winning team.

A manager that ex players, including some from our neighbours, are angry has joined us because they know how good he is.

Conte will maximise what we have, and if anyone isn’t good enough (Kane included), they’re done here. Adios. There will be zero argument about what another manager could do with them. That’s the esteem of the guy we have employed.

We’re currently fighting super rich clubs managed by Pep, Klopp and Tuchel. Having a manager that we truly believe can compete tactically with them is fantastic.

Even if it ends up in tears (and it invariably does with Spurs), it’s wonderful to feel a sense of optimism after a putrid period for our club.

That's September. One month.

A lack of wind in the month meant fossil fuel usage came back into play changing the percentage and increasing the energy prices. Cause coal costs money to dig up, transport, burn and dispose of. Where as wind is just there. Except September. When it wasn't there.

Renewable energy will only increase as the years go on. And if you want, you can specify your household energy comes 100% from it if you wish.
I praise your optimism, it's two months were renewables were bigger than fossil and I want nothing more than 100% of UK energy to be renewables, but I'm also being a realist here.
There's an energy shortage in the world right now and China and Russia is buying all possible resources to survive the winter. Every country in the world needs to find a solution on how to step up their renewables, but right now it's not economically viable and it's hard to see a solution for this that is going to work out world wide in the nearest time.

And if you absolutely want to know, I'm myself driving a Tesla and I get my juice from a 100% renewable hydro plant in Norway (who sell their majority of gas supplies to UK).

You haven't been told that, but you're a lying, petulant person so you've twisted what was actually said to suit whatever agenda you have.

What was said is that some people aren't going to pat Levy on the back for making up for his own mistakes. That doesn't translate to 'don't be excited about Conte' (I am, so are 99% of us). Having concerns doesn't mean you can't be excited, cretin.

You're too easily pleased if you forget the shit Levy's pulled over the years. Not if you're happy with Conte being appointed.

Insulting people, using profound Iodine deficiency, is a bit beyond the pale, IMO.

Interestingly, to me alone (virtually), it is one of the key drivers for our squads demise (moderate deficiency), IMO, best buffered naturally by using Kelp.

Winter - Ascophyllum nodosum (Norwegian - higher sodium to potassium ratio, warming)
Summer - Laminaria Digitata (Atlantic - higher potassium to sodium ratio, cooling)

All things being equal.

I'll be honest I'm not anywhere near as excited as some of you on here.

I'm level headed about all this. I've been a spurs fan for far too long to get carried away.

But one thing I am looking forward to is the style of play. In particular playing with width.

I can't put into words how fucked off I was watching us try to play through the middle all the fucking time even though the opposition packed the width of the 18 yard box. It was like banging your head on the wall.

Hard times right there. Sorry to hear it’s been so tough. That’s an almighty burden. And I don’t mean supporting Spurs through thick and thin.
Puts a lot of things into perspective when you read about some of the shitty things people have to live with.
Have another beer. You’ve earned it.

Thanks mate, pity your not still in Bolton, would have suggested a pint sometime as i'm over that way every 2 weeks on family business.

Poch had ambition - has Conte got it too? My fervent hope is that he doesn't fall into the 'I've made it, so I'll put my feet up now,' trap that several of the team have fallen into. We're relying on him.
Being at Spurs, with the money and the luxurious corporate surroundings seems to suck the drive & ambition out of people. It's too cosy & comfy for my liking.

I want Conte to blast the place to bits.

I completely understand that view (I was on my 3rd dad by age 11), I just wanted to present what I thought was in Jose's mind at the time. He's a manipulator, it's how he gets what he wants. It wasn't fair, perhaps, but if Dele had willingly adopted Jose as a father-figure mentor (as was, I believe, the intent) then he could have turned things around.

He tried the 'brother' approach, which seemed to work for about 2 weeks, then he tried the father one, but either Dele figured it out or he was just wasn't that arsed anyway. I'm not sure I saw Dele looking past the superficial aspects of it, to be quite honest.

Dele's parents (his dad's a millionaire) have tried to get in touch and he's having none of it. So he's made his choice. The story that he was abandoned as a child ignores the fact there are pics of Dele throughout his life with his dad at weddings and other stuff. To be brutal, I think Dele is just a moody teenager who can afford to turn his back on his parents because his life wasn't like it should be (in the movies). But I am a massively cynical fucker and he's a spoiled twat, so there.

:contepoint:
Fair enough mate, different views but both valid, thanks for explaining.

I’m hoping Conte just takes the I’m your coach and this is what you need to do approach, and that Dele then does it. It’s last chance for him at the club i think. He can still be a great player I think but he will have to apply himself.
