Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The biggest positive I saw was players making a decision on the ball much quicker than under Nuno. The ball was advanced so much faster. The flip side is because they were more active we saw just how much Nuno's slow motion tactics have taken out of their legs. They maintained shape better and there were patterns of play that had some intent behind them. Even though Kane didn't have an impact I also think there was a benefit from him playing nearer to the goal. I think when he would come back up for the ball he often took something away from the attack. Bottom line, think about the number of players who looked better already than they have to this point. It won't be easy, it may not even be soon, but Spurs are on the way back.

League fixture list from now until the January 16 NLD at WHL:

Home vs. 15th
Away vs. 18th
Home vs. 14th
Home vs. 20th
Away vs. 7th, but it’s Brighton and their early season form has fallen off
Away vs. 12th
Home vs. 2nd
Home vs. 10th
Away vs. 13th
Away vs. 17th

As Conte will say, there’s massive amounts of “work“ to be done, but it’s a pretty favorable start to be able to implement his ideas and start to rack up some points.

Then hopefully add a couple of players in January and make a proper go at the run in.

2 weeks until Leeds at home. That’ll be a good open game. Atmosphere should be cracking. Conte won’t have all the players for 2 weeks but he’ll be focused on analysing the players and planning our setup. Things should start to get better from here. If we can eek out some results from a run of fixtures that is, frankly, not too bad… then by Jan with a couple of signings, we could be well set up for the NY.

I’m really intrigued what conte can salvage from this absolute wreck of a squad.

There’s bound to be a few that will be changed around under him? Emerson and Romero I think will do well, can reguilon be coached into a decent wing back? Saw glimpses the first few games he was here but needs a lot of work based on his performances since..

The hojberg, skipp double pivot thing I just don’t see ever been technically good enough to dominate games/create enough

Ndombele is still a complete enigma, as is lo celso. Maybe AC can get a tune out of at least one of them in a new system.

already seeing a more robust shape and the balls being played with intent. although we didnt win today i enjoyed that. good to see we have a proper manager now and you can already see it, even with this useless bunch of twerps.

all about hanging in there until january, stay within 9 points if fourth and maybe just maybe we can sneek it, providing we get the right additions. CM and CB is priority imo, also need a quality frontman too.

He requires a structured, well set out team full of extremely fit players. That's when a Conte team is optimal, and he can't even close to achieve that in the time he's had, nor will he for a long while. So no judgement from me. I thought the performance today was poor, but totally understandable.

I see signs of what he's trying to coach already. That immediately puts him above someone like Nuno, where I never understood what we were trying to do. We have a coach with a vision and the passion to see it through, just needs the time and resources to work with.

Have every faith in Conte but my worry Is always Levy. We have a favourable set of fixtures coming up and say we win the vast majority, is Levy going to do his usual and think we don’t need the players in Jan as Conte getting the best out of what we got? That’s my worry with this chairman of ours. Any excuse not too spend money, he will grab onto.

As harsh or stupid as it sounds, our best case scenario is to continually play poorly up until the window so we can actually address the problems. These players aren't good enough. If we can get a decent fee for Kane, he should be sold immediately. Dele needs to go as well through an outright sale or loan.

surely conte has been made promises. if levy gets in the way this time i think there wont be any fans that will want him around and it will be real toxic!

Klopp finished 8th in his first season at Liverpool but he started to implement his way, we can already see this. It’s going to take time to create automated patterns of play, get the fitness up to required levels and buy and sell a few to fix weak links. But like Klopp Conte’s system and record speaks for itself, it’s a matter of time and then we will see results.
Problem is Conte doesn't hang around too long, it took Klopp 4 years to win his first trophy at Liverpool

true but I think next season with 3-4 additions and players used to Conte’s work ethic and tactics we should be ready to rock and roll.
Hopefully we get a quick bounce.

It's going to be a strange season with a World cup in Qatar played in the middle of the season during our winter. Fuck knows how clubs are going to cope.

Whats a decent fee for Kane. No one is paying that 75 million anymore. It will be closer to 50.
