Ah that didn't take long.

I like Kessie but I really think we have jack of some stuff master of fuck all functionary cm well covered now.

If we are adding CM’s, they really need to excel at something.

Even less bothered about Dybala. He’s inconsistent, high wages, and I don’t see the point of another inverted left footed attacker when we now havé Kulusevski and Gil who cover that base.

For the left sided centre back spot I’m guessing.

Botman is class, but Lille won't let him go for less than 40-50 mil, it's safe to assume. And I reckon that, like his teammate Jonathan David, he'll only want to join a truly elite team.

I really don't see Bastoni leave Inter, where he's playing regularly, for a team that plays great football and for a manager who seems to really trust him. But then again, if they're still in financial trouble by then, you just never know. But as with Botman, he'd cost a fortune and would get offers from bigger teams than Spurs.

Gvardiol is still too raw for my liking. I think it'd be a big jump for a struggling Leipzig side to - hopefully - a Spurs team playing in the CL and competing for top 3 in the PL.

What could change this is Lille isn't doing so good in the League, they are in the midle of the table.

If ndombele does well at Lyon and gets a much needed reset, and finds a way to be motivated, then it's certainly not a bad thing for us.

Either we sell for a good price, or he comes back raring to go for conté.

Sometimes you just need mom's cooking for a few months to get over some stress and come back stronger.
Ndomb doesn't need to eat any more comfort food than he already done

Yes, they aren't doing great and it's highly unlikely they'll qualify for next year's CL or even Europa League...so I suspect it is possible they'd lower their asking price, cause 25-30 mil for a player they paid 8 mil I think it was, that's already a decent profit.

Wait and see

Have to get those names out there so when we bring in nobody of quality the apologists can spin how hard we tried to get them but tough when Barcelona gets Kessie, we couldn't force Inter to sell and Dybala wanted to stay at Juve.

We should just be happy that we could bring in Mark Noble, Gedson Fernandes brother and really Tanganga working hard this summer is like a new signing.
Did conte come out and say we wanted them players or some nobody on the web who puts up lies for click bait??

Agree- Botman is more CB than LCB in a 3. As for Bastoni, even if he leaves Inter, I have a hard time seeing him leave Italy. They idolize players like him and he is a natural heir to Bonnucci and Chiellini. Gvardiol is young but seems to have the raw talent to make it work (thought he'd need time to develop fully) but he might be the best option for us with our budget.

Speaking of budgets, we still need to buy Romero. Fee was 50m euro or so, right? Does anyone really think we are going to spend 80m+ euros on CB this summer? Unless he has a great 2nd half of the season, I'm not sure we'll execute on his buy option, and may see some attempt to shop around and gague prices for other targets before we are forced to make a decision.

Madness to sign Romero - he’s started c.5 games and with the ridiculous international schedule next season it makes that deal look even less appealing

He may shine from here on in and start every game in which case I would change my mind, but I wouldn’t pay more than 15M based on what we’ve seen this far (inconsistent, injury prone and long haul international travel)

Yeah I think the Romero option is 42mil GBP. Personally, I wouldn't spend that. Yes, he was good whenever he played, but he's spent far more time injured than on the pitch. There's also been attitude issues, like when he disobeyed the club to go play for Argentina and then was stuck in Croatia or something cause of Covid quarantine. Overall, that's a lot of money for a player who's proved very little as a Spurs player. He'd need to be very special between now and the end of the season for it to be a reasonable purchase.

Gvardiol would still cost us a good 20 or 30 mil, I believe. Leipzig are backed by Red Bull so they are not in a position where they absolutely need to sell. Again, I personally wouldn't spend that on a player who's still very raw and who's got just the one decent season on his resume.

Forget the money, what we need is a proven CB, someone who's been around the game for a while and who can be trusted to do the business, who's rarely injured and who has real leadership qualities. Yeah they don't tend to come cheap, but as long as the juice is worth the squeeze, I'm cool with it.

Would also be good to develop a young British CB...but I don't think that's Tanganga...

Spurs aren't giving up on non-league players... Fin Barker next...

Tottenham and Leicester City are closely monitoring non-league striker sensation Fin Barker, Football Insider understands.

The rising star, 18, has caught the eye of scouts from clubs higher up the football pyramid after dazzling for Northern Premier League Premier Division side Mickleover FC.

Premier League and EFL clubs are able to sign players from outside the professional leagues at any time of the year.

Botman, dybala, kessie, bastoni etc etc. Some random person puts out names people here get excited, we dont sign them people lose their shit. Despite the fact conte might never have been interested in 1st place.
I see we're linked with mbappe, haaland, van dyik, hakimi. We're a shambles if we dont get them
I see what you mean, but apart from Bastoni the other players you mentioned are not random: there has been concrete interest in Kessie and Dybala; and Botman is being watched by many EPL clubs. And regarding van Dijk (unless there is a random van Dyik I've never heard of) Spurs interested in him while he was at Celtic but passed... 😎

Obviously we are signing Romero. We need two new CBs IN ADDITION to Romero so it will be 3 if we don't take up the option.

Can always sign someone this summer and pay next summer. Fairly easy to structure deals to make it feasible.

Ideally we bring in a LCB upgrade on Davies and another quality CB for the CB/RCB role that can challenge Dier's starting place and provide cover for Romero.

Ship out Sanchez, Tanganga and Rodon for two quality options.
