I can see your point.
And to my eyes he did struggle with pace in Liverpool game - with first steps Pool defenders and midfielders got too close to him and he could not proceed. So he has some limitations.

At the same time I feel you are not doing justice to his output. I agree with your assessment of "human pin ball" regarding Moura - no one knows to which direction will the ball bounce off from his feet. But Deki has done more than this comparison suggests. To be better than pin-ball reference, it would have been enough to help us retain the possession and maybe play some cleaver passes. But in reality Deki has been laying out assists in nice frequency. He has set up 8 goals within 1200 minutes on the field. While Moura has managed 15 across 7733 minutes. One has assist for 150 minutes on field, other 515 minutes. At that - Deki had to get used to new league, while Moura has been here for years. When he first joined, he was trusted to only play 208 minutes of football and he provided 1 assist (no goals) in his debut season.

So yea- from one hand - comparison with Moura will put Deki in good light. On the other hand, his actual output is totally from different dimention as well. So he is not just slight upgrade. It is closer to switch from playing 10 against 11 and having 11th player added to team..

I think his future lies as a #8/#10.

......Plus, even if he does eventually get usurped in the first XI; that bodes well for our bench.

I’m not as enamoured as some seem to be with him. I think he’s benefitting greatly from not being Moura, which is understandable, 4 years of human pin ball will do that to you.

He’s definitely more composed than Moura, which is a plus, and he’s got some physical heft when it comes to protecting the ball, but Kilusevski only seems to have amble as a speed setting, and doesn’t seem to have the pace or technique to actually dribble past people or, at least, stay past them.

He’s brought something different, but I’m yet to be blown away.
See how he sat down Mings for the Son assist or how he always manages to find the angle to slip a pass in or get a cross or shot away (Leeds goal for example).

He is not slow over short distances and uses his body so well that he can definitely get past people or create the space to deliver.

You criticise Moura (who is by far our paciest player who dribbles past people for fun) but then claim that's what we need.

No one is calling him world class but given the dross that we've spent on recently and the fees in the current market, I don't think we sign a better attacker for 35m EUR anywhere else so it is a no brainer to do this deal (not that we have a choice anyway with CL qualification).

I think your assessment is incredibly harsh. We've been waiting years for an good compliment to Kane and Son and we finally have it.

Loan him out again; Chav-style..... He's young enough to out-stay Conte.

Ditto Sarr if Toni isn't too impressed.

Ditto Tanganga.
Not sure Tanganga is ever a top tier defender. Not good enough technically but would be great for Palace.
I'd keep him as a squad option for another season as we may already have Rodon/Sanchez going out the door but then probably move him on next summer.

Think we will capitalise on Gil's rep in Spain for some kind of swap deal. I know we have links to Pau Torres but not sure if there are any other La Liga targets.

Sarr will need a big pre-season if he's to stay or get loaned out, too early to call.

Apparently Man City also interested in Cucurella, if they come in strong for him you imagine it'll get done. If we could convince him to join I think him, Sessegnon (and Davies in a pinch) leaves us in very good order down that left wing.

I wonder if there's a deal to be done for Rodrigo de Paul. Think Emerson would be a good fit for Atletico.
I like De Paul, but would Atletico be willing to part with him after just a season?

Maybe a swap+cash deal for Renan Lodi could be doable if we cannot get Cucurella from Brighton.

As said earlier it could easily be 10 out and say 6 or 7 in. You dont need to replace Lo Celso, Carter-Vickers, Ndombele and Jack Clarke. Add the most likely departures Gollini, Emerson, Rodon, Reggi, Winks and Bergwijn and theres your 10. Certainly a couple of those wont be easy and may end up being loans but we've done it before in 2015, 10 first team/ squad players as well as a couple of younger players sold.

We have enough experienced players. We need young, hungry players. More players like Kulusevski who aren't the finished article and have room to learn and improve.
I think we need both. Have too many youngsters and you lack spine in big games. I think a big difference between us and Woolwich apart from the managers being a class apart is that we had experience PLers during tough games such as Lloris, Dier, PEH, Kane, Son.

I would love Bale and Eriksen back as they add so much up top. Then a few young and hungry prospects

I think he needs a solid season of game-time somewhere before deciding to cut the chord.

I'm not so sure... Paratici obv. saw something in him (in order to drop what amounts to about £27m on him) and thus may be more inclined to take a long term view.

What I would say i that right currently he's worth less than what we paid for him, so it wouldn't be prudent to bin him off so quickly.

TBH, I won't pretend to have even seen him play; but given Conte is likely a short-term project I can't see how he's room in his agenda for developing kids.... Perhaps if we had EL or ECL, but with CL looking likely I don't see it.

Thing is 'older' doesn't necessarily mean mentally tough.

Meanwhile - stating the obvious - no-one gets younger and each season = more experience.

I think we have a healthy blend of ages atm (+ guys like Rom, Kulu & Bcur have a lot of experience for their age) and if all goes well we should have a steady stream of players peaking over the next few years.

Ultimately, in the short-term we obv should trust Conte, but I'd be concerned that we don't end up with a big load of ageing players - with no silverware to show for it! - in a couple of years.

Rodrigo de Paul would be an excellent signing. He’s a powerhouse of a midfielder. Also, him and Romero would bully everyone.

Cucurella will be 40m at least but Don't worry The Great Paul Robinson says he's not worth it and not good enough for Tottenham.!!! He will do another season at Brighton and then get sold to a REALLY BIG CLUB MR ROBINSON YOU DICK!

would be a dream (of course with Kulu and Romero being made permanent as well)

There's an enormous opportunity this summer.

I'm not for one minute suggesting they won't still be elite....but....

A lot of the best players in the prem above us: de Bruyne, Salah, Mane, Walker, Gundogan, Firminio, van Djik....

..are all turning or sliding past 30. Of course so are Kane and Son. They've all still got seasons to go, but maybe, especially the pace merchants, are past peak. Still excellent of course, and City are reloading with Haaland etc but alongside Chelsea having all sorts of problems we might just be in the mix if we we buy wisely and get a good dose of luck. Plus the World Cup might throw some curve balls into the mix.

If they get a bit worse and we get a lot better....not going to be enough to bridge a 40pt gap (fuck me) but...decent chance of the stars aligning for a memorable Spurs campaign 22/23

I hope we get nick pope instead, but he's probably good enough to be a starter at a club like Leicester instead.
