Davies will always have his spot in the squad. He's a very good squad player and the ultimate professional. Ranocchia, D'Ambrosio and Gagliardini found game time under Conte and they're not fit to lace Davies's boots, they're that mediocre.
My point was pretty clear but let me try again: there won't be much of a competition as Bastioni will be the undisputed starter. Bastoni - IF bought -is not bought to provide Davies with competition, he will automatically be (far) ahead of Davies.
But for sure Davies would be starting cup games etc. as he's shown to be a solid LCB this season.

Gearing yourself up for disappointment already?

Bellingham is the kind of signing that opens up to you once you reach that next level.

If we actually showed genuine ambition there's no reason why he couldn't be a target while he's still at Dortmund, just as long as City and Liverpool stayed away. London club, Champions League football, unless we fuck it up. Elite manager in charge. One of the best stadiums in the world, and training facilities.

Get his younger brother signed up. That would also give another reason.

Not sure I would instantly agree with Bellingham better than Bissouma.

Bellingham is a great young talent and so is Sancho but adapting to the intensity of the prem is hard. Bissouma is proven against us, against Liverpool, against City, he has competed and often out played their midfield’s.

Bellingham may long term become better but right now Bissouma is about the least risky midfield signing the club could make (court case aside).

Well there's 2 reasons right there....... There's also other clubs in that tier + clubs in the same tier as us that have dumb wealth to spray about.

Signing Bissouma for a likely 50m doesn't spell a lack of ambition.

You don't genuinely believe in this last statement do you?

You are right but then you have to convince him to choose Spurs over Liverpool or Man City and have Levy splash out £100-120m....

Well as mentioned, it would be dependent on those two clubs not going in for him. I don't think City would but I think Liverpool certainly would be a likely option. But we can certainly compete with the likes of United, another club he will no doubt be heavily linked with.

I also don't think Dortmund will demand that kind of money this summer. Maybe next summer if he stays and has a really good season. But that looks likely as they won't want to lose him and Haaland in the same window and he doesn't seem the type to demand a move.

Bellingham holds great promise but he's not kicked a ball in the EPL.

All these so-called dead certs in the BL; how comes BVB didn't smash the Europa League this season?

They reportedly have no intention of losing 2 big players in one summer; say you'd have to put in a mega bid to change their minds.

Bissouma is perfect in a way. Conte traditionally plays 352 but can’t with the players we have. In Conte’s system the number 6 is the creator which Bissouma does for Brighton.

Bissouma would sit at the base of midfield while Hojbjerg, Skipp or Bentancur would provide the energy. He could fit like a glove.

Bellingham could also do this but he would need adaption time to what is very clearly a much much stronger league. Bissouma would be less of a risk although Bellingham would be home grown.

Nunez would be ideal out of that lot.

Thoughts on Marcus Lavinier (RWB/LWB) - has been on bench a couple of times and about 10 mins in EL under Mourhino ?

Both will count as over 21's next season (Tobi was this season), so both likely to be sensible to be loaned out, unless we are short of number where with both counting as HG they could be in first team squad - although not sure Conte would play them enough (lets say minimum 10 appearances, mainly off bench) to make it good experience for them
I've previously posted about Marcel bend the Liverpool. Then Emerson went and put in a MOTM performance 😂.

I think Lavinier needs a loan to a mid championship club e.g. QPR. He is capable. I was watching Tavernier yesterday in the EL final and was considering him as a RWB option. But actually he is similar to Lavinier. Both have a similar style Justin at Leicester.

All 3 have also played RWB and LWB. And RB and LB. They very very similar to each other. I would rather just give Lavinier some experience. He will then be ready to take over from Doherty.

All 3 are strong runners, get up and down the wing. They can also do have some quality on the ball. Just Lavinier needs to develop his final ball on the run. He can cross a good dead ball but not on the run. This was a criticism of aurier I had.

If Real Madrid are after Milinkovic-Savic, yes, forget about Spurs having a chance - and with Kroos being 32, Cashemiro 30 and Modric turning 37 it makes sense for them to look for replacements.
I have my doubt about Dest's defensive qualities but he's got the technique of an attacker but I can understand him wanting to work with a familiar coach (although he not long ago said he was happy at Barca).

BARCELONA are ready to let full-back Sergino Dest leave for £24m, with Man Utd said to be in the driving seat if they choose to bid.

Chelsea are reported to be interested in the American, but Dest is said to have his heart set on working with Eric ten Hag again.

Meanwhile, Leeds' Kalvin Phillips has reportedly told friends he will never move to Old Trafford.

And the Red Devils face a battle with Real Madrid for the signature of Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

If we want to go to that next level we need to be signing for Bellingham's of the world, not the Bissouma's. Not that Bissouma isn't a very good player, but Bellingham will be a genuine difference maker for years to come.
If I could have one of them in my starting 11 right now its 100% Bissouma, Bellingham could obviously become a better player but we have absolutely no chance of signing him. He didn't move to Dortmund so his next move could be Tottenham, he wont move unless its to one of the European giants.
