I think he’s gonna be a great LWB

And I think Sess can improve some more

What I’m not sure about is 60 odd high intensity games and both surviving that stress test (particularly Sess)

I think we need another wing back and probably a LWB because Peresic can play on the right

So 5 players for the 2 positions

RWB: ??? / Spence (?) / Doh
LWB: Perisic / Sess / Doh

Missing pieces are right-siders surely?

Tottenham Hotspur are now being linked with a move for Denmark star, Joakim Maehle, who is the latest name added to their long list of targets.

Maehle was one of the stars of Euro 202 for Denmark as he helped his nation to the semi-finals. Indeed, it was Maehle’s moment of magic in the quarter-finals that stunned Ian Wright and everyone watching, as his brilliant assist for Kasper Dolberg lit up the game.

And according to a report from Tipsbladet (via Sport Witness), Maehle is on the radar of Spurs manager Antonio Conte, who is desperately looking for reinforcements at wing-back. Intriguingly for Conte and Spurs, the Danish star can play both sides, something which could be massively helpful in a long season with a Champions League campaign.

Maehle will cost around £22m if he is to move, with Atalanta open to the sale if that price point is met.

Tottenham have been active in the market already and signed Yves Bissouma today. They have already landed Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster, while Djed Spence is also said to be close to joining the club.

Fabio Paratici has been given the green light by ENIC and Daniel Levy to go out and spend money this summer, as Spurs look to make the most of having Conte at the helm.

TBR’s View: Joakim Maehle Would Slot Right In At Tottenham
Players who can play either side as a wing-back are few and far between and that’s what makes Maehle such an attractive proposition. Not to mention the fact he is an excellent player with bundles of energy.

That energy serves him well, with Kasper Schmeichel lauding his teammate as a ‘machine‘ thanks to the way he goes up and down the flank.

As we know, Conte loves a runner, and Maehle might well tick the boxes for the Spurs boss.

Yes please

Understand I'm in the minority here, but with 4 competitions, and the health of PEH/Skipp I still think we need more in the midfield. Right now it's 4 players for 2 spots and that's if we never play a 3. If we are making real runs in the cups and in CL we're going to need even more rotation than that, and that's not even counting the 5 sub rule.

Ok I’m going to say …. I think doh had a good few games and finally looked like a player I recognized at wolves

However I didn’t think he was as good as the hype …. I thought he was good

I did not however think he was good on the left. Like at all …. I didn’t blame him for that because it’s the wrong side of the pitch for him

But according to the experts on here peresic is right footed

So for me I can’t include doh as a good LWB option

Rwb. Doh / Spence

Lwb. ??? / Sess

Peresic the option (and most likely first choice on the left)

So yeah I would prefer another LWB

Don't you worry, having Ndombele back will be just like a new signing.

36 games?

Conte managed 28 unless you're including cups as well, if you're trying to analyse and draw a comparison then I'm not sure if it's wise to include those matches against the likes of Morecombe.

We struggled against low blocks because it's quite simple, Conte didn't have the players to play his system - that will obviously change with new acquisitions and a pre season which will give him more time on the training pitch, yes we did lose to Chelsea 3 times but this 2 months after he joined and we didn't have our 2 new signings in January, once we signed them we obviously improved.

The point about him having a pre season is that it gives him a chance to work on his system and to get the players used to it and to get them fitter which obviously will help us throughout the season.

Not sure I understand the point about Utd having the power either, they're not attracting anyone at the moment.

Yeah many things could go wrong but many things could go right 🤷‍♂️
I'm not questioning the point of pre-season, and never did. Don't know why you keep bringing this.
It's obviously going to help big time.
Did i say we will look worst than last year? No i haven't. But it's completely unrealistically to compare and expect to be at Liverpool or City level.
We won't be. Anyone thinking we are going from struggling to get top 4 to a title contender have unrealistic expectation.
You got your view i got mine.

Conte is World class manager, no doubt about that, but Klopp and Pep is already world class, and they have a huge 6-7 years lead, better squad, better depth and are super used to everything in PL, and have perfected their style and team.
On top of that both Chelsea and United are more powerful than us.
This is the reality. It's way too much to overcame for just 1 season.

And yeah obviously i include all the matches, cause in the new season we will have even more.
And people judge on cups as well.

As far as our struggle, it was because we absolutely lack creativity in the midfielders.
If the team plays open, we are great, if they are tight, and with good MF-s we are terrible.
That was the story.

It’d be an excellent window. Would leave the squad with only one real question (RWB). Depth and quality in abundance elsewhere though, IMO.

I think we get 3 maybe 4 more tops, and integrate the 6 or 7 players coming in this season, which is a challenge by itself.

We will certainly need more players next summer (eg potentially to replace Lloris) and maybe January so there is no compulsion to spend money where players available don't fit Conte's requirements or players aren't top class.
