From Fan Nation April 2022:
"No team in the Premier League has hit the net more than Spurs this calendar year".

How much more "creativity" do we need.

If the players that we now have (including the new ones) could finish better then i think we could finish top three.

We missed tons of chances last season, and this is where we need to improve and not necessarily by doing a ton on another AM, especially when we need a CB and RWB.
Great, but who's to say that will happen again? We didnt have Europe, out the FA cup early then 1 game a week. Its about options as we really struggled against Boro, Burnley x 2, Brighton, Brentford to create anything. Creativity doesnt have to be from a no 10.

Our problem is more complex than that. If we face an open team, like Norwich, Leeds, Villa, we get a LOT of chances, and often score 4/5 goals.

against teams that are more compact, or those that succeed at pinning us back we're struggling for chances.

There are teams that are not as dominant as us, in open games, but get better outcomes against defensive teams.

We also cocede a lot of chances because our midfield struggles to retain possession.

All teams that play "more compact" don't just do that against us, but we have still scored more goals that any other club since the players learned Conte's fundamental system.

Secondly Conte is working on improving the defence. We had the fourth best defence in the PK last season, conceding forty goals, Chavs 33, Scouse and Oil both 26.

Obviously theory would suggest score as many and concede half asmany and we could win the big one?

Conte has added a very good striker, LWB and AM add to this that Kulu will have a full season coming up and we simply have enough going forward in my humble opinion.

Defence is where we need to improve and this is where over the last few seasons Scouse and Oil have won the big one, not in attack or scoring tons of goals.

What is this, cryptic? 4 eyes? Someone who wears glasses is involved? That narrows it down.

Been saying for ages that the way we played had very little need to use a "creative midfielder)
Any one of the front 3 will often drop deep and create for their team mates. The two wing backs are supposed to chip in with goals and assists. Even one of the CBs is charged with roaming forward and picking passes.
If we simply swapped one of the 2 CM for an attacking mid I don't even think the setup would work. Not many genuine CAM types can be forceful enough to make up the numbers like the players we have.
So then you're dropping one of a front 3 to out an extra man in midfield. Something that is already happening throughout a game whenever one of the front 3 drops deep.....

No idea to be honest. But rest assured if its true, Kenwright will want his balls back as part of the deal👍👍

Conte is clearly a "dynamic" coach who has a core system, but allows that structure to evolve & develop.

He's stubborn. He hardly picked Eriksen for the first few months at Inter, then after lots of coaching found a way of accomodating him into his system. He thought Perisic didn't work hard enough as a WB, loaned him out, & now late in his career Perisic is one of the best WBs in the world who happily joins the famous Spurs to work with Conte again. So, he's stubborn, but if players work hard he will integrate them into his tactics.

My broader point is that I'm convinced Conte & his coaching team will have thought long & hard about how to play against & break down the bus parkers. I suspect part of his preferred solution is more creativity from our back 5, passes breaking the lines or diagonal balls from our CBs (hence the obessive pursuit of a ball-playing LCB) and of WBs who are good attackers (Perisic, Spence, maybe even Gordon if we can get him out of Everton).

With Kane, Son, Kulu, Richarlison, we have plenty of goals, movement & footballing intelligence up front. And as many others have said, ultimately if Conte is playing 2 in CM (rather than the 3 he played at Inter), then those midfielders are first & foremost required to be solid, stopping opposing moves & then transitioning the ball to our flair players quickly.

If I was an Everton fan I could understand selling Richarlison as the means to fix FFP.

However Gordon is like their Oliver Skipp. Home grown exciting player to build their future. The board would be crazy to sell him.

For us obviously he would straight away fit in as a wing back and home grown to boot.

skipp, Bissouma and Bentacuer address the latter point

These are typically the games where the so-called defensive teams are forced to come out a bit and actually seek 3 points, rather than bunkering down happy with a draw......

..........Enter Bissouma. 👊

Yep..... They have FFP off their backs at least til next summer... His stock will more than likely rise in the meantime; so why rush to sell....?

Bit of an assumption if he's no previous in that position.

Everton are no longer under pressure to sell their players. Takeover due later this month, why would they sell Gordon for such a low fee
