1) We need a locksmith player
2) Zaniolo may not be what we are looking for
3)Langlet maybe better than some first thought
4)Perisic will be a good option once fit
5) Richarlison will be useful in tight games

1) We need a locksmith player
Zaniolo is the man, remember this was a friendly, and he was playing alongside Dybala for the first time.

2) Zaniolo may not be what we are looking for
He is

3)Langlet maybe better than some first thought
Very good game indeed, and i'd take him right now over Sanchez or Davies. Quick in attack, good passer pf the ball and can put in quality crosses. Defended well.

4)Perisic will be a good option once fit
Him and Lenglet, mustard!!

5) Richarlison will be useful in tight games
Played another good game, tricky, quick, elusive and unluky not to score a cracker of a goal.

Bottom line from tonight's game, is that we have no quality to move the ball up the middle, forcing to go outside most of the time.

Finally DJ is going to be needed because for all his huffing and puffing Doherty just cannot take anyone on and is slow on the overlap.

COYS!

My guess is that we're getting Zaniolo. It's just a question of waiting for Paratici to scrooge out a loan deal. We wanted a Commodore 64 but we're getting a ZX Spectrum.

Even if we were willing to pay £60m for Maddison, it's too late for Leicester to do anything with the money. The deal makes no sense for them and we know that Paratici won't pay full whack for proven PL quality when there is a questionable Serie A player available on the cheap.

I wonder what Leicester would say if we asked to loan Maddison for a year to see if we want to sign him or not.

How do you come to that conclusion?

We lose to Roma in a friendly and sh!t prevails.

No.concerns from me; very pleased with our signings but do think one more attacking/creative midfielder would be the final piece for now.

People need to be calm and not knee jerk.

I haven't seen any shit prevailing or knees jerking!

Seems to be some kind of insular paranoia running through this site these days.

I didn’t get to watch much of the friendlies. It’s a bit of an overreaction to care too much about them, but I’m generally a bit concerned if Sanchez plays at LCB and also that we haven’t addressed our RWB position.

Cultists. You can easily think we've had a pretty good summer and acted early for once which is great but still see the weaknessess we have in 2 or 3 areas. We stand a great chance of top 4 again because we have a manager in the top 3 in the league and Kane and Son. But in terms of seriously challenging, which Conte wanted, we need more.

We're a week away from the new season and Leicester have spent the summer planning for a season with Maddison in their team. They won't have done any of the planning and due diligence necessary for the departure and replacement of their key player.

If Maddison had been making noises about wanting to leave all through last season and Leicester had gone into the summer window expecting him to leave, they would have hopefully been better prepared and have had a clear vision of how the money would be spent but as far as I know that wasn't the case and they'll just have £60m burning a hole in their pocket.

I’m not too sure about Zaniolo today was his audition and he failed miserably against Sanchez on the left who in all honesty has been shocking all preseason on the left of three. I’m always open to being proved wrong and I accept it was his first time playing with Dybala but that does concern me even more because he should be setting the example for the new player to show him the standard of the team. At this point I’d take Maddison in a heartbeat again I accept I could be wrong but the impression I was left with today made me think he’s a massive gamble.

Just an observation - there is a noticeable difference between players that have joined from 'bigger' clubs vs players that have joined from lesser clubs.

Bentancur, Kulu, Perisic and Lenglet - all have played for the biggest clubs around the world. Bent and Kulu have already hit the ground running and Perisic and Lenglet are already playing with confidence and look like they're going to be off to the races sooner rather than later. All four players already look like they're ready to start.

Our signings that have joined from lesser clubs (this season and past seasons) seem like they need more time to get acclimated and build confidence.

Not sure if this is coincidence or if there's a real correlation between a player's former club and confidence level when joining a new team.

Zaniolo: Barely noticed him tonight.

Not exactly brimming with presence and creativity.

He’s not a PL player. Doubt we are even in for him that seriously to be honest. Conte wants players that can hit the ground running this season, why bring in a player from Italy who looks like he might take 6 months to be ready for the league? Goes against all the signings we’ve made so far. I just can’t see it.
