Pedro Porro. Sergino Dest. Joakim Maelhe. Nahuel Molina. To name only a few. There are so many wing backs available that are better than Emerson.
Been through this before with almost the same list.

Porro isn’t available. He’s literally just signed for Sporting.

Dest was supposed to be the player that made Emerson superfluous at Barca. The fact that they have made him available this year after bringing in a 900 year old Dani Alves says everything about him.

Dest was a forward, who was turned into a full back. I don't believe he played wing back for Barca. At 21, I'd take him over Adama for RWB, if Conte thought he could work with him. Spence just makes more sense though for a project at that position because he ticks the HG box.

If that’s who they spunk the big money on, that’s a relief. Isak is really talented, uses his body well, has potential, but he isn’t a superstar, not the player who’s going to fire them to top 4 any time soon. I think he scored like 10 total goals last year for La Real. Good player not great one.
Incremental improvement.
They’re basically copying City who didn’t become brilliant overnight. They’ll go through some transitional players who improve the team considerably ( probably putting them on the cusp of Europe or maybe put them in a secondary competition), giving them credibility before they can attract the Silva snd Rodris of the world. Bruno G and Isak are exactly the profile that will improve them and give them credibility as a destination

Similarly, Howe is a transitional coach before they can grab a major name.

I see the natives are getting restless.
Doing the bulk of our business so early leads to disquiet on supporters.

Perhaps we should bring in Perisic, Bissouma and Richy on the last day of the transfer window, forego a pre-season where they can get used to Conté and gel, so that the usual moaners have something to look forward to on deadline day because our ‘rivals’ (West Ham, Man U) are active now having shat the bed at the beginning of the window.

There’s just no pleasing some.

But Howe is also doing exactly what would have been asked of him and in fairness is the first 'transitional coach's who I have seen that was given a contract extension.

No you're right

£18,000,000 for someone who's been involved in 46 goals in his last 54 league starts is faaaaaaar too much.

How silly of me. I forgot all of the better options we've been linked with at a cheaper rate.

If he was one of the best attacking players in Europe then why is he not even starting for a team like Atalanta ?

He started their last game. And scored. Against the Champions too.

Stop judging a players ability on other teams and coaches decisions and instead either watch him or look at his output when given a chance

If all you did was base your decisions on other teams and coaches decisions we wouldn't have signed Kulusevski or Bentancur.

Don't rule it in, or out, just shake it all about...

Not really a fan of Isak, tbh.

Certainly not for the price quoted. Stinks of Newcastle just buying for the sake of it. Genuinely not even sure he's better than Callum Wilson which means it's alot of money for a back up.

Better than Chris Wood, I guess. And Wilsons injury record is a little iffy

To a large extent correct.

If we had bought the 6 players we have in the last week it would be happy days.

What posters must ask is of all the players bought so far in the PL during this window,, just who would have preferred, in the specific role that Conte wanted filling?

My view is we need or should try and get 1 more attacking player who knows how to score a goal or find a pass.

You would think Conte adds nothing to players output and performance.
