I agree, but I think there’s a bit of worry that now’s the time to really make sure with the investing - not missing it like we did under Poch.
It looks like Liverpool might be gassed, Chelsea are in disarray, Utd are still a mess and Woolwich are decent but won’t have enough.
But it looks like City are still a better team than us. Kane, Son and Romero get in a combined 11, the other 8 all City. Haaland is going to net a shot load this season.
So maybe one more monster signing and we’re up there. Nobody top tier looks available though. Gvardiol and Maddison would be nice

Good to see a bit of reason and common sense brought in to the debate.
The bit I'd question is the bit about good players being available. It's up to us to use our financial muscle and unprecedented FFP wriggle room to identify and get those players we need.
A good example is Fofana at Leicester. Unavailable! Not for sale! Said Brenda just a couple of weeks ago.
I'll bet you now he won't be a Leicester player when the transfer window closes!

Only thing I'd add is that Paratici has been adding a lot of recruitment guys over the last couple of months - and the only reason they would come is if he's intending to recruit/upgrade players for the next couple of years.
So whilst I'd certainly like one or two more good players to join in places we need, whether or not they come this summer it wouldn't surprise me if we saw one or two players being considered in the January winter (likely to be longer and earlier due to World Cup ? ) before another 4-6 players joining next summer.

And Chelsea are going to pay more than double his value. Who else fits that profile?
