Fwiw, this Mebude had 12g and 18 assists in 20 games for City's u18s last year. Appears they signed him from Rangers 2ish years ago. Looks talented, forum seems fairly high on him.

Can't put much positive spin on the James news. He works hard out of possession?

He's a forward. He plays in the attacking positions. His wiki page actually goes a far as to say the word 'striker' frequently when describing him and where he has played in his earlier career.
I don’t really care what Wiki says.

The year before we signed him, essentially his breakthru year, he played left mid in a 442.

He’s hardly played since then, not sure what Valencia did with him?

I'm surprised we're not looking at Mitrovic.
Always felt there was a player there that just needed confidence and a half decent team around him.
Great leader, but not what we need at all. How many starts will he get? He can’t run either, so no good in a counter attacking side.

Great finisher tho, complete menace. Chelsea could do worse than him or Toney as a focal point

Kulu is a loan, you can't include him unless you take Romero out and put him in last seasons spend.
Richarlison is more like £50m + £10m
Spence is more like £12m rising to £20m
About £48m less there.
Throw in approx £30m for Bergwijn and CCV.
That's down to £147m
Are we saying that the new stadium and champions league football couldn't cover a portion of that? Or that neither really make a difference and we needed a loan to spend?

I'm not complaining here, I'm simply questioning inconsistencies in people's arguments.
If you're going down that line then you also have to add in the signing bonuses for Perisic (a lot) and Forster (not a lot)

The money owed for add ons still has to be budgeted for.

There’s already enough mentally ill morons here no need to post moron pollution.

Wow!!

And posted on a site that actively supports and is Partnered with the mental health charity CALM

It's just a football forum for God's sake

I'm not sure who should be more ashamed of themselves. You, or the 13 people who have so far agreed with this shit :disdain:

It's about time though that we spent to retain our position.

This isn't a "wah wah we haven't spent enough" because it doesn't take just money to spend it. You need to attract the right players too.
I just think 'some' fans contradict themselves.
They'll say Levy has done well to build the stadium to make money and that CL football makes more money. Then say the money We've spent is the £150m which Levy got and we should be appreciative of that.
IMO, there is still money to spend for the right player. My worry is we are struggling to convince said player(s) to join.
That's fair.

But when a player (Bastoni) says outright that he doesn't want to leave Italy there's not a lot anyone can do.

No doubt some will say of we offered him/club more money then he'd come.
Probably true but unrealistic.

I’m a bit sick of seeing people ask for lists of “available” players in any position. They are ALL fucking available Ronaldo was available, Neymar Jr was available, Bale, Messi, Sala, Lukaku, De Bruyne, Haaland and on and on.

You just have to pay the asking price and be a desirable place to go for the player.

Give me a list of available RWB’s is such a fucking miserable and stupidly pointless request to somehow justify why we have not bought one.

"Asking price" implies a player is for sale.......

Not every player is for sale.

If you think City would have sold us KDB and that the player would have wanted to come here then you have an extremely poor grasp of this subject.

Ditto most of the players you listed.

You seem to be missing VERY basic and fundamental point.
New and bigger stadium gives the club stronger cashflow for the future. It means we can play higher salaries to players.
I am 100% sure that if it was not for the new stadium, we would have lost either Son or Kane within past few years.
But right now we can go out and pay them + some others 300 or 400 kpw and it would not matter much.

So that is long term plan and effect of the stadium.

CL ? FFS we have yet to kick the ball there, how and why are you trying to claim like ship from UEFA HQ has just docked in London and they are currently loading us bags full of crisp bills as we speak ?!?!

Despite all that I agree with you - I do believe we have both means (liquidity) and willingness to spend on right player. Question is - how much? Current market has gone full-blown mad. Anthony close to 100 mil. Fofana and Gvardiol ~80 mil. Isak >60 mEUR. I am not sure we should in fact go along with this shit if there is a belief we could use funds better in winter window or next summer.

We have invested >160 million euros to the squad. And there is still Kulusevski buy out clause to be added in some point in time.
Why is it essential that we would end the window pennyless and then hope and pray for the better future?
I don't personally get it - does the fact that we have say 80 mil left in bank for transfer market purposes is negative fact on it's own? Cause I do not think so personally.
