Match Another pissing game we won’t turn up to, have to suffer Emerson again and hope Kane or Deki save us - AKA Leeds at home, 3pm, 12th November.

Conte criticism is getting OTT.

He's not perfect, but has done a very good job so far. We are in top 4 despite having many injuries in our attack (which is worse than injuries distributed evenly throughout squad).

Conte is a world class manager- instead of criticising him- pressure should be on Paratici to back him just like he did last Jan so we can reach the next level.
Pressure on Paratici? FFS

I didn’t watch the game as couldnt get a stream, but I’ve just watched the highlights aka goals. I’m not getting the whole Dier hate from the goals conceded and assume there was other poor defending that makes our supporters so irate.

Leeds Goal #1 - he was exactly where he should be. Somerville collects the ball with pace. Blame for the goal probably rests with Royale who takes a second to realise Somerville is running hard with the ball or PEH for the wimp tackle / marking just before the pass to Somerville.

Leeds Goal #2 - was clearly Lenglet fault. He wandered up the pitch leaving two attackers 5 yards behind him. Even if you say that the backline should have been level, that is surely Lenglet fault as the CCB to marshal the defence?

Leeds Goal #3 - Doherty is up in centre midfield when the ball is played to Rodrigo. Between him and Sanchez letting Rodrigo get away from him is where the fault lies

Im not sure Dier could have done more on any of those. Also Lloris didn’t have any obvious errors that led to goals.

I wonder if TFC gets a bee in their bonnet with certain players and trots the same agenda out each time, regardless of fault?

ps. Royale is shite and deserves all he gets here.
Dier is completely awful on the first goal. He has no attacker to his left to worry about as lenglet is free to pick up a runner and dier slowly jogs over to Summerville instead of closing him down. It’s bad. His angle is bad.

2nd goal, the man isn’t his responsibility but he is holding everyone onside. It’s not as bad as the 1st.

I thought Lloris was terrible for the 2nd

It's not OTT to criticise bad football managment from game to game, when the football is bad.

Please, stop all this over sensitivity.

Conte or any other manager are every bit as "world class" as their last performance, no more no less.

Can't believe people are calling Conte out tbf

He's not been perfect but to me the only criticism is the obsession with playing Royal

I don't know if it's protest to show Levy how shit he is so he gets who he wants in Jan, or if Spence and Doc just are shit in training and Royal is prime Cafu until he steps on the pitch but it's beyond a joke now.

He's hamstrung at CB he need better players there simple as Romero our only decent one and again he's gone AWOL before big Argentina fixtures that's legit beyond a joke now. We need big investment at the back simple as

He was poor on the first one just because he didn't see what was obviously coming and then let the guy run through and shoot without any effort to tackle.
2nd goal he was half at fault but more Davies, he'd taken up the RCB role leaving a gaping hole. Dier was watching one of their forwards to his right side, Lenglet had 2 Leeds forwards to his left with no other defenders to help.
BUT, although Davies was out of position, all 3 were in a nice line and, if they were more switched on as the ball pinged about, they could have shunted across and had it away. I'd say Davies most to blame but all of them need to be more aware.
I'd blame Bentancur for giving the ball away with a sloppy pass to a heavily marked Kulu for the 3rd.

All 3 goals were avoidable for various reasons.

To be fair, Doherty wasn't good against Forest and barely any better today.
Maybe Conte has seen that in training and is playing the younger more athletic one.

That open goal miss today though, Jesus fucking Christ Emerson

No, you need to look at overall track record at Spurs and even before that. Last performance leads to reactionary nonsense.

It's not OTT to criticise bad football managment from game to game, when the football is bad.

The football was good last season, has been worse this season with Kulu injured.

We just need/must sort our defence out in January!!

A RWB, a CCB, and a LCB is a must in the upcoming window, and good ones, starters.

A goalkeeper, an AMC, 1 or 2 wingers, and a striker we can sort that out in the summer

yea emerson takes a split second to long to react but you want your CB doing far more to stop the forward scoring, weak from dier. thats not a good defender when strikers can get shots off that easy when 1 on 1. feeble attempt, the size of dier he should be forcing them a lot wider there but hes always scared of getting too close.

second one i cant believe what im reading. lenglet pushed up too high leaving the players free that dier is playing onside? LOL. you do realise the defence is meant to get up the pitch and as far away from the goal as possible when the balls in the air? lenglet has done what hes meant to do hes in line with 3 of his teammates, dier has not only played their whole fucking frontline on side, hes also slow to react and flat footed, he should be trying to get a head on it, the ball is in his vicinity but hes too flat footed and immobile to sort it.
emerson, davies, lenglet and bentancur are in a reasonable line, dier is a yard behind.

lloris should also save it, its gone through him ffs

Deschamps is underrated. Took Monaco to a champions league final, won the league with Marseille and won 3 cups.

Purged the toxic national team of its talented but disruptive influences, placing characters like Lloris at its core and trusting in young players. Oversaw real progress in results: losing narrowly in a tight QF in 2014 WC to the eventual winners, making the final of euro 2016, and then winning WC 2018.

Anglophile commentators say he should play better football and sure… who wouldn’t like that? But Deschamps is canny and no national team plays like the club teams do - there isn’t the time for that. Even Brazil aren’t spectacular.

It’s got nothing to do with being Anglophile, there’s been more criticism from the French media etc of Deschamps than there has the English media, and it’s also got little to do with expecting national teams to play scintillating football, they rarely do, and by definition, the best managers are usually managing clubs.

The tragedy is how passive and reactive Deschamps football is, some of the choices he makes, and yet one of the best squads international football has seen only won one out of the three tournaments they should have won.

He might have been underrated 15 years ago, but he’s not any more.

Only winning one out of three tournaments, and not even getting to the quarters of the last one with this squad is like only winning one out of three leagues with ManC - whilst playing turgid, Pavard at RB, Sissoko I’m midfield - football.

Fair enough. And it's true that Royal didn't have the skill to hit a sitter but . . . I believe that if it had gone in, it would be VARd out for offside+interference on the goalkeeper by Kane. It would have been if I was on VAR. But . . . he missed as badly as any seven year old could manage so we'll never know

There’s no denying that Conte at least has the team believing they’re never out of a game.

I don’t want to always be chasing the game, but we at least have been able to keep pushing and come out ahead this season.
