in this scenario surely it’s more like Levy tells Conte what to do , then after the event Conte has to go and say you were wrong about thatInteresting if so. It could be that Conte didn't want him and, if he was sold, shows he tells Levy what to do and not vice versa.
Maybe. I just think it would really highlight that we don’t have a clue what we’re doing.Interesting if so. It could be that Conte didn't want him and, if he was sold, shows he tells Levy what to do and not vice versa.

Daily Sport. That second tweet sounds like they are going to back him in the market. Wouldn’t mind seeing the original source.
That way we still have him as an option if/when Conte walks.
I’ve liked the little of what I’ve seen of him.
Spence might be a victim of politics. IE, maybe Conte wanted some one else but Levy used some of the budget on Spence which meant Conte couldn't get who he wanted.Maybe. I just think it would really highlight that we don’t have a clue what we’re doing.
Selling Emerson after one season at least makes sense insofar that he’s a RB and we need RWBs. Spence for all intents and purpose should be a Conte player, other than he’s not the finished product, but he’s a tall, strong and fast RWB
considering how shite we are as soon as you remove bentancur and kulusevski from the team, i can see the appeal of ignoring CBs for now and getting in a CM, Forward and of course the wing back since doherty is just a little less poor than emerson

There seems to be a bit of a knee jerk reaction to our recent results (not against Levy - that has been a long time coming - but against Conte). Neither Brentford (who beat Man U, Man C and Liverpool) and Villa (who just effectively had a month of pre-season with a new manager and almost an entire squad not at the WC) were easy opponents. We saw dramatic improvement last season after the January window when Conte got to spend time on the training pitch with the players. We had out best ever start to a league season in my lifetime this season (and I am 50!). We have had the disruption of the WC this season (we had a lot of players out there 11). and also had injuries to key players in Kulusevski, Romero, Richarlison, and Bentancur. We do still need 4 or 5 more players (which Conte and Paratici said all along would not happen in the first 1 or 2 windows). Get Conte a RWB and another AM/WF this window, and 2 top CBs in the summer, and we'll be ready to compete. The key is whether the club are prepared to back Conte significantly in the transfer market both now and in the summer. Conte can still be a big success, but we need Levy to step aside or step up.
+1Some sensible reasoning, thank you. I've had a couple of days to get over the Villa result and am feeling more reflective on the situation now, as you have described above.
AgreeBentancur, Kulusevski, Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, Lenglet, Spence, Forster ... all addressed weaknesses we had and made our squad a lot better. The first three made the first XI significantly better too. You don't need to be Levy to like that. I'd take two more like Kulu and Bentancur this window and another 3 first team upgrades in the summer. If only eh?
Oh I’d say he 100% is. None of us see the kid in training every day, so can’t really say if he’s better or worse than Doc/Royal, but when players that aren’t a natural RWB are getting more minutes than an actual RWB that is fit you know something is off.Spence might be a victim of politics. IE, maybe Conte wanted some one else but Levy used some of the budget on Spence which meant Conte couldn't get who he wanted.
If Kulu is injured DO NOT START Gil. Just go with Perisic as the wide forward or 3 in the middle.
What’s wrong with that? Sarr and Skipp are both promising players with a point to proveBissouma suspended, Bentancur injured. Leaves a middle 3 of PEH, Skipp and Sarr
