Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Couldn’t this just be a bit like the Gil scenario? Wouldn’t it have been a good idea to give Spence two or three starts - just to see if he might be viable - before spunking 40m on a 4th WB? When we desperately need a GK, CB’s, WLF, 8/10 type and a midfielder with a speed setting above plod?
Yes like countless others that we could have given more of a chance to, but no two games….nope they are rubbish get rid🙄

Another day drifting by with no signing.
I suspect we aren't going to get anyway now. With Paratici controlling transfers and doing a lot of business with Italy (which he is now banned from doing). Any irons in fires will have to be pulled out, for fear of any inter-association ruling which might negate them.

As far as I can tell, we are essentially starting from scratch, as of now.

Here is Daniel pretending to care:

"oh- no!"

What is most staggering to me is that the club has no viable back up from the youth academy. Replacing Hugo has been inevitable and our set up doesn't seem equipped to replace him. This was supposed to be a major strength of ours. Hundreds of millions invested, where are the results.

When was the last time a top club in England ever had a goalkeeper break through and be their number one goalkeeper?

Ridiculously hard thing to achieve. You can blame the club for a lot of things but not achieving the rare thing of producing a goalkeeper good enough to replace a World Cup winning captain isn't one of them.

I thought we were supposed to be clearing out the crap......

Manchester United are interested in bringing Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane, 29, to Old Trafford this summer. (Mail)

Good point. But some or any decent prospects in any position breaking through to freshen up our squad would be nice considering the investment.
