The worse thing is its only £36m. Thats the going rate for good players these days. All this haggling is just costing us transfers
Because it's all about who we can get as a 'deal' rather than what we actually need
If there was an injury prone Italian CB with some decent qualities that could possibly be signed with a loan option , we'd be going after them
It's how we operate , no wonder the squad is a lop sided mess
Even if by some miracle we do sign Porro and Zaniolo, 2 current players will need to be cut from the squad. Unless we can get outgoings lined up I don't see us making signings. Levy will not accept paying salaries for 2 players who cannot play.
I suspect the club will want to distance themselves from the Juventus scandal, which likely means cutting ties with our crooked Italians.
With all that's going on, won't be surprised if we don't make any signings this window and, Kane once again sends out the message that he wants a new club.
Poch coming back seems inevitable now, and given the crop of young players we have in our ranks, given a couple of seasons we shouldn't hopefully be back in the mix. Fans need to be patient as the post Kane rebuild will be painful.

If the club really wants Porro I don’t know why they are making a fuss for less than 10 millions euros. His clause is 45M
I reckon we will end up with porro and Zaniolo, but we desperately need to sort that defence out, it really is lower table stuff.
Levy always has to get a deal, he always has to get one over on the selling club. If the clause was 15m instead of 45m he would still be haggling.
In turn, begging the question...... Wait for what?
- Uncertainty around Conte to subside?
- Investment deal to be done?
- To see he negotiations with Zaniolo or other pans out?
- Paratici situ?

I don't know why Levy still thinks that strategy works but it is hard-wired into him.
That wasn't the m.o. in the summer so it's not a safe assumption.
I now highly suspect we are signing no one this window again.

It certainly was with Spence, but to be fair to Levy he did seem to try and do business early last summer.
Maybe that was Paratici taking charge, wouldn't be a surprise if he has been on glorified gardening leave this January with Levy having to take over.
All of the above. It's well known that Levy likes to fuck about but it doesn't work any more. And it's know that Paratici likes to keep many options spinning, seeing if he can get a better deal. These two were made for each other but it still leaves us fucked.

I always thought that was the point in having a DoF? He dictates the club strategy and the players bought, so it shouldn’t matter who the manager is. Or have I completely got this wrong?
