Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nobody wants to buy our players or negotiate for them with Levy it seems this transfer window, summer window with all our loanees back is going to be an epic meltdown.
Yeah, we should consider employing an agent with some form of mandate to sell players on our behalf (for whatever he can)

Short term role, commission based model

Get pre approval from pinhead on minimum fee required and the agent has free reign to move them without the little mole cunt having any further say as long as it’s within the guardrails of the pre approval

Sanchez - £5M minimum
If agent gets £10M, he keeps 20% of the delta from the minimum eg he keeps 1M

Agent uses whatever tactics needed to force the shit players out.

It’s a mockery that clubs can just cheery pick the best players from teams below them and basically stop any other team breaking the glass ceiling. It’s a wider problem of football. I accept we play our part and are complicit
United used to do it to us all the time, Carrick, Sheringham, Berbatov all spring to mind straight away. To be fair to baldy as much as I may not agree with him, we aren't a feeder club for other PL clubs any more!

Whatever Hugo's faults now thats beyond harsh to a bloke that has been with us for 11 years and arguably our best keeper since Jennings. Not his fault the club didnt plan for this eventuality. We wont sell Davies and doubt we'll sell Dier as we'd then need to buy 3 centre backs. Reckon those 2 will just see out their contracts, Diers last year next season.
Anyone who wants our club captain to start games is trolling gooner scum?

Maybe today was too early to come off the meds.

Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Sess all have their shortcomings but we will need them until the end of the season if we are going to get top 4 and win anything (LOL). They have all been part of previous squads that got top 4 as well.
I agree about lloris. I love lloris. Not blaming him at all. But do you actually want him to stay at spurs and start games still (knowing very well he's no longer reliable) or do you not want us to get a new goalkeeper who will be reliable and help us win games?

Same with the other players in the list. As spurs fans I (and Im sure others) wouldl want the mediocre players , who have been shite for a while, gone and be replaced with better ones, so that the club has a chance of winning something. There is no legit reason to want the likes of Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Bellyboy, Winks etc to stay and start games .

With the greatest of respect, you seem to enjoy patronising other passionate Spurs fans desperate to see our club finally make an effort to fucking capitalise and use our financial muscle to kick on.

There's no need for it tbh
it’s so great that you never patronise other spurs fans or think they’re stupid or wrong for not agreeing with you.

Trouble is, nobody wants them. If they did then we'd have sold them in the summer. They are being paid too much so we cant sell. It is quite the quirk of fate as 5/6 years ago we were told Spurs wouldn't be able to keep their players by everyone, because we don't pay them enough, now we cant fuck them off....because we pay them too much!
Drop the price then. Woolwich gave Ozil and Aubameyang away, I don't think we need to do that.

If Sanchez is on the block because we have to sell to buy then I don't believe we wouldn't get the same money for 5 players out on loan if we just set the price in the right place.

Sanchez may not be very good but he is a model pro which Ozil and Aub aren't.
Smalling plays every game for Roma.
Sanchez chose the wrong league to play in.

Good for them.

I don't feel like we're complicit tbh. We usually buy the likes of Hojbjerg who wouldn't sell for a lot, nor be a key part of a top team.

Only Richarlison falls into the catergory of snatching the club's lifeline. Even the likes of Defoe back in the day were just picking the corpses of failed clubs not kneecapping an actually well run club like Brighton or Brentford.
