Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

But he was cut price due to his legal issue, I forget exactly what it was now. I don't think many football fans would think we overpaid for Bissouma £25m.

PS I'm copying Conte today and starting a lot of my sentences with ''but''.
Yeah I am not knocking bargains. Just that when all you do is bargains you end up in the situation we are in. A huge mess! Whilst watching our rivals go for the title.
You need a good quality higher fee signings too if you want to succeed. You don’t win stuff on bargains sadly.
But to put the debate to bed, look at what our transfer policy you are supporting has lead to.
Ps. It was sexual assault he was cleared of so I guess we will never really know. I think it was more because he only had a year on his contract as clubs don’t really care about moral stuff.

But we wasted a lot of money on Ndombele and GLC.

Yeah which shows how bad levy is. Most of the time he doesn’t spend enough. & when he does he gets it so wrong. Which is why we need him out. He has done an awful job on the transfer side. Look at how bad our team is! Not sure why you or others want him to continue being in charge.

Would be amazing if we signed Maddison. I would say we need a CB as a priority but honestly Maddison would be such an incredible signing. Now Newcastle are signing Gordon it gives abit of hope....
Maddison would be the dream.
He started today against Walsall so unlikely there is anything cooking.
However this amused me on the Sky live updates:

17 mins James Maddison (Leicester City) is shown the yellow card.
16 mins Delay in match because of an injury to James Maddison (Leicester City).

You can add Sanchez, Sessegnon and Regiulon to this and you have £200m of fucked transfer budget. All of which appear unsellable.

Compounding factor as to why we are doubly fucked with recruitment. The players we spent big money on just a few years back need replacing themselves, on top of the tosh that's still here.

Possibly make around £100m back total??????
If we couldnt sell that lot last summer i'm not sure what makes you think we will now. Rodon seems to have done ok on loan and we might get a fee, we might get something back on Gil the rest i can see us having to loan for the remainder of their contracts.

But quite a lot of fans seem to think we have't spent enough, the truth is we have but not spent wisely, it's better now that Paratici is here. Not sure what's happening with Porro though.

We are a club going absolutely nowhere

Woolwich unexpectedly hit the top of the league and they absolutely plough in the money to make sure they're resourced to stay there.
Chelsea struggling so they plough money in to fix it.
Newcastle growing as a club still, punching above their weight but still strengthening.
City are stacked and don't really need to buy they just need to adjust their style.
Liverpool bleat that they can't compete and then sign their second consecutive £40m January attacker after £85m on one in between.
Even fucking Bournemouth managed to agree a free for Zaniolo in 15 minuted flat. Regardles as to whether he wanted to join is irrelevant, they were willing to pay.

And we, we loan a player and spend FOUR FUCKING WEEKS wasting time on one we can't seem to actually get.

At this stage, I'm positive that chairman all over the planet are trolling Daniel Levy because he's such a megacunt. Fuck, he deserves to be trolled.

Woolwich got a lot of money off their payroll ridding themselves of Lacca, Boomerang and Dot Cotton so they have saved a least a million a week on those players alone.

How's Chelsea's "fix" working for them?

Liverpool spend wisely whereas we just waste money on the likes of 62 million on N'Dombele?

Mentioning City is pointless because no team in World football can match their spending power, not United, Barca or Madrid, so a false negative example.

Bournemouth offered a deal, it's up to the player? They have PL money spare, and was this a loan or permanent move?

The end of the day, we signed Kulu and Benta last January as loans that hasn't turned put bad has it? We have to pay for Romero (i think) and have another player on loan now, plus looking to finalize Porro?

Throwing away money for players is all well and good, but how many of our most expensive players who flunked have we ever got anything near what we paid for them back?

N'Dombele?
LoCelso?
Sanchez?
Aurier?
Jenssen?
Soldado?

The fucking list is endless.

But let's just go out and spunk money in a thirty day lottery window.

Keep posting that

One day it will be funny ...
It's not meant to be funny, it's there as a reminder that this particular poster is solely on here to shit stir and cause friction.
You give it a free pass because you share the same view on one aspect of the club.

There are others on here who share the same view on ENIC, but I respect their opinion because they engage and are at least open minded enough to question their own assertions and accept that there have been positives as well as negatives.

This poster does neither, just stirs the pot to get you lot excited, then sits back and enjoys the bickering and friction. That's all it is interested in.

A typical catalyst.

I don't have an issue with the negativity towards ENIC, I even share a fair bit of it, but this one uses it as a vehicle to wind everyone, including those who share the ENIC out view, up.

So I couldn't care less if you find it funny or not, but it'll keep reappearing every time it pops it's head in to stir up everyone on here as a reminder on just what its agenda is.

Great post. Those clubs have long term planning, a strategy and managers that could be with them for years. They want to improve and win things. We have a chairman who wants younger players but wont pay for them, a manager that wants experience but we wont pay for them and a DoF who appears to have given up, which might be sensible as he'll probably be retiring in a few weeks. Our squad consists of 3 loans, a load of players who's contracts end in 18 months and a couple of fading stars who have helped carry us for 4 or 5 years. Root and branch change is needed and that starts at the top.

Chelsea?
