Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Maybe, but Brighton have built a set of young(ish) dynamic players, for a pittance. Nagelsman (and back room) did it at RB Leipzig (recall when they dumped us out, their team was £15-20m total to construct).

We need 2-3 elite scouts, find the best in the world and offer them 50-200% pay rises.
There is a big difference scouting low risk for Brighton or RB level expectations and scouting do supposedly have ambitions to win.
Also the RB clubs and now Brighton are known feeder clubs so those kind of talents and their agents want to sign with them.

Yup, Woolwich got Martinelli direct from south America, Brighton got Caicedo direct from South America, City with Alvarez.

We just don't even bother to look in some of the lesser European leagues, never mind continent spanning scouting networks.

Both are pretty good defensively, Emerson is better in attack and not constantly injured. Our fans hating him is evidence for fuckall, our fans hated Trippier as well.
Poor comparison in that Trippier could put a better ball into the box and has a far better range of passing than Emerson could ever dream of having.

The only reason I suspect we were ever in for either of them was for Nuno's right back in a more solid back four, which Emerson has always played. Emerson is always a more natural wide full back (which we needed more at the time) than Tomiyasu who IMO is a better footballer and more versatile. So we don't have a player to suit the system, this is why Doherty is a miles better fit in Conte's system despite his limitations (clearly signed for Jose's system which we never got to see the best of Doc in).

Tbh I think he would suit Conte more in this squad as a CB option, he's a Japanese Corluka and I think will eventually leave the Scum as he's a utility option currently and won't play that much but looks like he could lift trophies too, so could be happy with that vs not playing depending on the player.

Trippier would fit the current system like a glove, alas as I predicted his and Eriksen's sales and poor selections replacing them royally fucked the side's creativity and a lot of attacking threat. Worst transfers out to the detriment of the side retrospectively IMO.

(Maybe one of the big boys who isn't a dipshit could count how many times we used 3 at the back under Nuno in the League btw)

okay

"Kim transferred to Fenerbahçe on 16 August 2021 with a transfer fee of €3 million and signed a 4-year contract"

Mourinho is as always full of shit.
Do you genuinely think he’s making up random stories about FaceTiming players?

For what it’s worth, with Kim (and also Kvaradonna), I suspect it wasn’t the money, just that no one has any confidence in players from China or Georgia. Or the MLS too.

"Nunos right back in a more solid back 4"

Despite Nuno playing wing backs 90% of the time prior to him joining Spurs with Doherty literally playing as a right winger.

Put a fork in this dipshit he's done. Stick to insults and having cyber beefs and leave the football talk to the big boys.

but where are you getting that figure from? I genuinely don't remember that ever been reported.

I do. :) (Granted I don't recall if it was pounds or euros)

.......Just done some googling but inevitably everything's flooded with the new Jose quotes now......

Anyone interested enough can of course re-visit the KMJ thread on TFC.
