If we do actually, finally pay what it takes to get this Porro deal over the line it's blatantly obvious Levy will only have sanctioned it for fear of the MASSIVE backlash he knows would be coming his way if it failed.

Thank fuck our fan base isn't still stuffed with the likes of Airfixx, Stevee, Koloyid and that French fraud. Heaven knows where we'd be now if we all followed their example!

Because Sporting are supposed to pay the fee - of £2,6m - and not Spurs. And they agree on that....only for Sporting to change their minds overnight.
So this is not a Levy thingy.
Don't bother mate

If he was in charge we'd be paying £170m more than we receive every year .

Just think about that for a second, that would be a debt of £3.4 BILLION in trying to SpEnD MoRe MoNeY

They're letting Cancelo out on loan to Bayern... so maybe there is some truth in this ...

Joao Cancelo transfer news: Man City full-back set for shock Bayern Munich loan until end of season

Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo is set to join Bayern Munich on loan until the end of the season; deal includes an option to buy with the German champions long-term admirers of the 28-year-old

Don't act like you know how this usually works. Maybe the selling side is usually responsible for fees. E.g. when I sold my house, a proportion of the sale price went to the agent, not an additional fee from the buyer.

If we're to believe Ornstein, Spurs being asked to pay the admin fee is a surprise. Why should it be a surprise if there are not standard procedures for such fees or Spurs already had an agreement on these fees too?
I think it’s to do with the factoring fees.
Sporting want all of the money now so they are using a lendaer to factor all of the fees up front. The lenders who offer this service charge chunky fees and interest.
I think they are trying to get spurs to pay this.

This very well may be a last minute issue from Sporting. Maybe they changed the requirements last minute, and maybe it's some gray area that needs last minute sorting out.

The reality is though that we've had WEEKS to get this done. Weeks and we're screwing around at the very end of the window.

As far as I can tell, there's absolutely nothing else in the works either. If this falls through, which it looks like it might, all we will have accomplished as a club is a couple of young and unproven kids, and a bench player.

It really is shocking still, while not being super surprising, how inept we apparently are.

I’m not going to city as can’t make it, don’t particularly want to go to the other either but I will if there are protests because I want to join in. But I also want to support the team, because I think we can still do something decent this season. Don’t let ENIC force decent fans away for a tourist to take your seat. That’s part of what they want.
I don't care. They're not having my money anymore. Or my time.

But none of this comes as a shock, this sort of thing has happened before a few times.
As you say, weeks to get this done, why are we still negotiating last minute, as one of Europe's wealthiest clubs, this makes us look like second hand car dealers.

I know it's The Sun but in case the Perro deal falls thru Spurs could do worse than getting Kyle Walker in (he's been a bit in...

MANCHESTER CITY defender Kyle Walker is a target for Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to reports.
The 32-year-old has had a reduced role this season - playing ten times in the Premier League.

What happened to the don?
It’s Paratici job to identify players to buy and line up deals, why has he done such a bad job of doing this? What happened to him lining up multiple deals a one time in case a situation like the porro deal collapses?
IF and I mean IF the money is there to buy porro why do we seem to have no alternatives?
It all skinks of Levy imo, he won’t spend the money on conte players while conte won’t commit to a long time contract and conte won’t commit until ENIC spend the money.
If we don’t buy anyone tomorrow the heat will/should be turn up on ENIC enough is enough.

dier is immobile as lenglet, davies might be slightly better in that regard but hes not as good on the ball as lenglet.

lenglet was getting into a good barca side years ago, davies and dier would never get anywhere near a side like that on their best ever day. hes a better footballer than the pair of them.

davies gets ruined by any good winger, hes average all round and at the top tier average dont cut the mustard. decent squad player to have but getting regular starts, no fucking way.

Yes.
Davies is decent squad player.
Yes.
Lenglet ONCE UPON A TIME got into Barca side.

But right now Lenglet is not even decent squad player. He is not good enough to play in EPL. There are so many examples when he also gets ripped apart by wingers. Only to turn off from Lenglet one does not have to be even good. Pace above average is already enough. Seriously look how slow his first steps are.

True that on the ball Lenglet is better. But defensively Davies is better. And difference in defensive side is bigger and it outweighs the passing.

You're right, the story about Paratici was always that he always had multiple irons in the fire. Either that was never was or isn't the case now, Levy handcuffed him, or maybe his legal issues threw everything into chaos. I don't know which it is but it's going to get ugly for Levy.
