I do think he'll be gone in the summer though. It seems to me that, from his perspective, there's more reasons to go than to stay. Wouldn't hold it against him either tbh given the shit he's had to deal with. I'd want to be with my family.
IF he goes, given we've just signed Porro and will be bringing in Udogie, our next manager search will have to be for someone who utilises or will be happy to utilise wingbacks...
Could it be that he knows he is off at the end of the season , so he doesnt want to take risks developing players who are no good to him now?
This is why if we are buying young players with potential we need a manager who is committed here for a period of 5 years minimum and we accept the first few seasons might not be great, but towards the 3rd and 4th we should be looking to challange?

Yep will probably spend 2 months discarding any manager that would do that and end up signing a 4--4-2 specialist from the Danish second division.
Can easily be used the same way Rose and Walker was in a 4.

In Porro and Udogie we have just signed two of the very best young WB's in the world...
but sure let's make them play in a role that doesn't fully suit them like we did with Doherty, that went really well.
Not sure why everyone has such a hangup about playing 4 atb. Brighton play WB's regularly, Brentford as well. Chelsea won the CL against City with WB's.
If you want to play 4 ATB you are always shopping behind City, Woolwich, Liverpool, Real, Barca and whoever else for specialist fullbacks and CBs. They will always have their pick of the talent before us but they aren't as interested in wingbacks.
