Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The football in his last 6 months was the same as we are seeing now. It was awful.

If we're going to delve back into the old managers market I'd much rather Martin Jol to be completely honest.

I agree about the football. It was why I wanted him gone. Blasphemy I know, but I was never his greatest fan while he was with us. I just never liked the constant flirting with other clubs. But now we know that was in response to Levy not giving him what he wanted, similar to how Conte won’t commit.

If paratici is still here I doubt it will be Poch anyway. We don’t have long on that to wait anyway, his appeal is at the end of the month. When you think about it, even for us, it’s crazy all the shit that’s going on behind the scenes. It doesn’t exactly scream a club pulling in all the same direction. It will always be like that with Levy involved of course.

Simon Kjaer told Sky Sport Italia and Mediaset: 'Kane was the first problem to face on every Tottenham move. It was important to block him off and then press the others. We were ready for a lot of their moves and did what we prepared in training. We knew exactly what they were going to do.'

and herein lies our problem. All teams know how we are going to play and Conte being so inflexible is destroying us.

Yeah.. and he was right up in Kane’s face at every opportunity. In saying that had he received the booking he should have it might have forced him to change the approach

Here's the post match presser and he's asked by an Italian journo how he feels about coming back to Italy, obviously not next year, but maybe sometime in the future.

His says he's Italian in his heart obviously and I can't exclude the possibility that one day I may come back, who knows.

Hopefully he stayed in Milan

If it wasnt for Spurs, Conte would never have won the league with the Chavs we should have pushed them harder for 1st spot! Still, if it wasnt for Jose the Chavs would have had European football that season, so they wouldnt have won the league regardless as Conte would have had more than 1 game a week to prepare for!:contehandshead:
So in an alternative reality, we won the league that season, and Jose and Conte never came to Spurs as managers, which means Poch is still here and successfull! :pochhail:

I think would give kane a reason to stay. By all accounts they were very close and remained in contact since after we got rid of Poch. We’ve ran out of those big big name managers that Harry will feel he can learn a lot off by staying to appoint. I think it would have to be Conte staying (which isn’t happening) or Poch back that would help convincing kane to stay.
As much as i Love Kane as a Spurs legend, this is bigger than him, Of course I would like him to stay, however the club is bigger than him, we should do whats best for the club first and if that means Kane goes then thats the way it has to be!

Poch was knackered after 5.5 years dealing with Levy and a lack of transfers, Mourinho Nuno and Conte completely the wrong managers to oversee the required rebuild. Ultimately the boards fault for realising a big rebuild was required 3 years too late after 2018 and appointing the wrong managers. I dont know why you're here tbh. Mourinho isnt coming back, he isnt going to Chelsea or Newcastle or any other top job.

it was alwayhs a short term appointment, and i suppose in a sense he kinda achieved his target by turning around a massively sinking ship.
Probably should've walked in the summer with his rep intact, just isnt a good fit for tottenham.

he's never getting sacked so i just hope there's enough about us to get to a FA cup final
Turning around massively sinking ship by spending +200m ? Where is the coaching? Weren't we supposed to hire an elite coach?

The last time he had a top job was at united.
Going to spurs isn't a top job

Whatever you do, don't add context to the quotes. Everyone is really enjoying the self-pity of overreacting to a very minor quote from a coach that is responsible for a team that isn't playing well.

Is Conte serving up exciting football? obviously not.

Has he in the past? yes.

Is he sticking around til the end of the season, then likely leaving? yes.

Doesn't mean things can't turn around and even if he doesn't get the team playing better, the only thing worse than watching some predictable football until the end of the season will be also having the exact same debate about his future after every game.
