Management Who is Jahm Najafi and will he be better than Enic?

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just imagine if ENIC actually fucked off

I'd worry for the safety of a handful of individuals on this site
I thought 'wanking yourself into a coma' was just a phrase but I guess we'll see...

It ain't happening.
Just seen an Abu Dhabi fella walking up Brompton road outside Harrods, and asked if his people were really backing to bloke to buy Spurs?
His reply
"What?
Jahm Najafi?
Never heard of the c**t!"

So I think we can say what with my ITK sources ,we can put this rumour safely to bed...

Airfixx Airfixx I'm not sure it is entirely fan fiction that Levy meddles in the footballing affairs.

Certainly it is exaggerated, but even the Amazon doc left an impression of a Chairman more involved in the footballing side than he ought to be.

Either way, he has accountability given his role as chairman. Even if not involved he clearly isn't implementing the right structure to get things right at the club (choice of manager and recruitment team primarily) so as a leader he is failing however you want to look at it.

It's the notion of the word "meddling ".... Of course he's involved in football matters (less so when we have a DOF on the firm); to whatever extent that's been part of his role over the last 20+ years but there is no basis for the suggestion that he fucks with those who are employed to do DOF, scouting duties or tells managers to play certain players.

He's just a convenient scapegoat for the things that people don't like or don't pan out as hoped.... Perfect example being us signing Ndombele or currently why Son hasn't been dropped.

The idea that Levy wants to ‘remain in charge’ is total and utter click bait.

There is precisely zero fucking chance that someone pays out 4 billion but has to agree to an employment condition from a previous owner.

Absolute nonsense.
More likely that any new buyer would make him staying for a period a condition.

Ignoring the reputation of Levy on here, most business purchase require some of the existing management to stick around for a set period to do a transition etc.

Not saying this is the case in this deal just pointing out it’s more likely to be a condition of the buyer rather than seller

I wonder what Levy’s day to day looks like:

9am - 10am: read the papers (sports sections already removed by his secretary)
10am - 11am: check up on the real estate
11am - 2pm: lunch
2pm - 2:10pm: discuss the team with Antonio (if he’s asking difficult questions cut it to 2:05pm)
2:10pm - 2:15pm: check Paratici’s QuickBooks
2:15pm - 2:30pm: beg Harry to sign
2:30pm - 4pm: nap time
4pm - 5pm: check real estate again
5pm: home time
You forgot to ass

Tottenham owned by an Iranian. Hard Hard Pass.
I'm more worried about being owned by an 'investor'.

Isn't the vitriol directed at Enic because they are investors first and Spurs fans second? You can't argue much else about them, the facilities* are excellent and we've been CL more often than not in the past decade.

This guy isn't even a spurs fan, afaik. More than a sense of Glazers about this.

* yeah, yeah, fuck off

I know some people will focus on the Iranian aspect of this story but a look at the guy's wiki shows he's very western-friendly. US-educated, owns a suite of US sporting teams and companies. Most billionnaires are usually quite damaged people but on the face of it doesn't seem like any red flags.

He owns Phoenix Suns but I know nothing about basketball, has he done a good job of that?

I think the ENIC criticism is that they are targeting gradual consistent growth rather than invest more, get more/lose more.

He'll be a perfect fit.

I'm not an investor, but that sounds more like speculation than investing, and investors don't like to speculate. Low-risk => Low reward is more their thing. Abramovich is a speculator, but that's easy when you're spending stolen money. We're not getting a speculator any time soon. But Boehly was a big surprise, so who knows?
