He might not like it, but ultimately it's probably what he needs the most, someone to take some of the off field burden away from him, and prevent him from greenlighting anymore Sissoko, Sanchez and Ndombeles.

Obviously with the caveat that the DoF is someone that he trusts, likes, and shares a philosophy with.

Whether Paratici is that man or not, who knows.
So he chooses the DoF again as he did with Steve Hitchen?

Two new CBs, a creative player, new GK, and Udogie and we’re cooking with gas.

I really don’t think we’re far off. Honestly manager might be the biggest question mark.

Well, those are four starters you just listed, five with Udogie so nearly half of our players.
Fair enough, it’s really just sorting out the back line. I genuinely think we have the quality and depth everywhere else in the squad minus one more creative player.

This is certainly the best squad we’ve had since 2016-2017 and we’re much deeper. Unfortunately all the weak spots are on the back line and not more even distributed.

I think your maths is off - PL clubs have moved on from the idea of having a first 11, its now really about having a top group of maybe 16/17/18 first team players with maybe another 7 or 8 squad players.

We now have a 25 man squad (plus other former first team squad members out on loan) so getting in 4 or 5 players good enough for our first team might make up maybe a quarter or third of our top 16/17/18 players ......

I mentioned this kid a couple of months ago:

https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.c...ttenham-interested-in-montpelliers-elye-wahi/

Téléfoot are reporting that Woolwich, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund are all interested in Montpellier striker Elye Wahi (20).

Woolwich’s interest in the Frenchman, who this season has eight goals and two assists in 20 appearances, was first reported by Foot Mercato in January. At the time, Wahi was rated at €30m by his club, who are currently threatened by relegation. Montpellier have changed manager twice this season and are currently seven points above the relegation zone, with four teams set to drop down to Ligue 2 at the end of the season.

However, despite Montpellier’s struggles, Wahi’s qualities continue to shine through, and his form is now attracting considerable interest across the continent. As well as Woolwich, Tottenham and Dortmund are all considering a summer move for the France U21 international. Wahi signed his last contract with the club in 2021, and it runs through until the summer of 2025.
