It’s been a terrible football display from both teams but it livened up towards the end. The game is there for us if we just take more care with our passes. There are huge spaces for us on the break.

Problem for me is VAR makes ref believe they got their decision wrong. Rarely does a ref see the video and stand by their decision. That is what should have happened here.
Not that I saw, havertz got the first yellow, royale next then a straight red changed to yellow

VAR changed his mind, told him to look at the monitor. Normally that's done before dishing out the red, it was odd but not against rules

At the very least you could argue that Ziyech should be off for two yellow. Yellow for the initial foul and then a second yellow for striking out at Royal. Ref was going to give a yellow for the foul, and then gave a bunch of other yellows for shoves.
I don't think this can be viewed as incompetence given all the other things he was letting Chelsea get away with, it's got to be corruption.

tbf he would have Romero covering for him this time instead of Tanganga. We could use some attacking threat going forward as well.
