Are you gay? If not I'm not sure you get to decide what is homophobic. Fan based organisations which are LGBT think it is, and generally I find it quite good to not be ignorant & instead listen to people impacted by these issues.
They tend to say they feel much more comfortable in stadiums when it isn't chanted, so calling it out is fantastic, just like people should call out racist chants.
