Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Unfortunately you're right...another few years with nothing to show for them...Poch would just be another Levy employee....he's completely NOT what we need for a rebuild....

You don't want the guy who's successfully rebuilt our team already under the current owners to come in and rebuild the team...under the current owners?

Make it make sense.

Poch May or may not be the right guy but right he seems to fill the bill compared to the anti Christ coach.
To use our club motto I dare cunte to coach our team to play half decent attacking football with a bit invention s d pass and move. I dare him!
Don’t tell it can’t be done with some of our shite players. It can be done as other teams with less quality and managers on a fifth of contes salary are prepared to put the hard work in by actually coaching.
I think cunte sometimes think coaching is beneath him.

I remember the end of his tenure....shocking.....and nothing has changed since he went so what's the point of his coming back....most of his best players are gone...do you really think he can get this lot to play any better? If you do, you're really not thinking logically...

Agreed. Can’t be a stop gap. Need a manager to come in a use the next 10 games as his bedding in period so he can the ground running come summer. There’s plenty of good managers out there right now with no clubs.
That’s all well and good but if we want a manager that’s currently employed, and one with principles then it’s likely we will have to wait. If we think conte is toxic then mason will need to step up.

My assessment is that if we get the manager right, the argument becomes moot.

What constitutes 'right' is the area of biggest contention.

Conte is not that person but the blame for aspects on the pitch cannot be laid at ENIC's door. That's ridiculous.
Right, so taking your point, did you think Mou was the right appt? What did you think at the time? Was he the winner we needed?

If not, then was Conte the right appt? What did you think at the time? Was he the winner that we needed?
So will our recognition of "get(tting) the manager right" only come in hindsight? If it works then it was the right appt. If it doesn't then we go again. But rest assured it has nothing to do with ENIC...and that's all that matters in the grand scheme of things.

Is that close to what you're saying?

Well you have an incredibly short memory then because what happened before Poch came in and when we had Sherwood in charge, do you not remember how bad our players were performing?

And why are you focusing on the end of his tenure when he was here for 5 years, what kind of disingenuous nonsense is that lol

Embarrassing you mentioning logical thinking when you haven't used any logic whatsoever.

I don’t know if Poch is right or wrong but we seem to be too focused on the CL and top 4. If this means we rush again to get the wrong guy so we don’t miss out then I would rather a season without Europe. Get the correct guy, correct players and build something the correct way

Clearly you're spoiling for a fight and I can't be bothered with you and your whole crowd. I suggest ignore...

Translated to, you can't defend your own argument because it's a whole load of nonsense and you know it.

You were the aggressor in this debate when you had a cheeky little dig, why are you suddenly playing the victim, silly boy.

Not strictly true, some earn the right of self-determination such is their status in a particular club. Sure, most take it too far but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are seen as the club...Fergie for instance...and on the 'take it too far' side there would be Wenger. Happens with players too...and we have a shining example of it.

Unfortunately, our manager that should have earned a decent status with us was betrayed by ownership AND supporters...and judging by your stance against his return and the reasons for it I have a decent idea where you stood back then...and I could probably add 'wrongly' to that. Now we are that which we were before him and have been since him. Isn't it grand? I'm enjoying my fellow fans 'getting their club back'. Can't wait for Simeone next!!!!
I wasn't one of those calling for his head, I was ok with him staying. I just don't believe generally that managers can return and recreate what they did first time around and now we have a DOF doing Levy's handy work with 'club signings', Poch's worse nightmare.

Well, those that were calling for his head are now and have been getting what they deserve.

Right, to a point, in that if the things above the manager stay the same then there is no reason for him to come back as he will be merely a pacifier. And I wouldn't want him in that capacity and don't feel he should risk his history with fans...hopefully he goes to Palace (don't laugh, good young bunch eager to run for him and with a decent amount of ball talent) when we give the job to some other 18 appointment.

But I think folks get the DOF thing wrong. I've always read it as Poch wanting to have direct contact with the man making the decisions and not some yes man sent out to say no to his requests. Plus, if the DOF was independent AND hired him then the dynamic would be different. Neither thing will be here so I hope he doesn't come back...but now that we have a truer sense of our (lack of) ambition there are fewer more fitting places for him.
