It is a slight problem that a reasonable proportion of our fanbase appear to want any new manager to fail, whoever he is, so they can continue their crusade against Levy / ENIC...

Personally I'll be 100% hoping whoever it is 'succeeds' (recognising of course that the definition of 'success' also differs wildly from fan to fan' - for me finishing top 4 more often than not, and winning the odd cup every few years, would be 'success', but I appreciate others wouldn't consider that 'success').

Agree and they’re not real Spurs fans

I even got behind Nuno more out of hope more than anything else as he was shite at Wolves towards the end but clearly out of his depth!

I know it's The Sun but the Kompany rumours are all over the net now

Kompany shock leading contender for Spurs job despite Pep's Man City vow

Vincent Kompany is shock leading contender for Tottenham job despite Pep saying Man City move is ‘written in the stars’

  • Updated: 9:39, 31 Mar 2023

VINCENT KOMPANY has emerged as a leading contender to become Tottenham’s new boss.
The Belgian looks to be leading Burnley back to the Premier League at the first attempt but SunSport understands he would be interested in the Spurs job.

I think Stellini will end up getting the job if he does a reasonable job now. I reckon it will be like the job search we had before Nuno got the job. Poch is not a candidate imo otherwise we would have approached him already .

Utter nonsense. If the fanbase were as docile or compliant as you want them to be Nuno would probably still be here.
And I have personally backed ever manager we've had in recent memory apart from him and Sherwood. Even when things got tough.

I don’t know. Am not expecting to know. Just merely stating an opinion.
I think that that is what the club is already doing. For all we know, we may have already found and agreed on a new manager to start in the summer, but you probably won't hear anything until the season is over. It's going to be a long 2 months with all kind of nonsense in the papers and social media.

Which bit is nonsense? You don't believe we have any fans who want the new manager to fail because they believe that is the only way to get Levy / ENIC to go?

Well you're welcome to your opinion of course, but I've read plenty of posts both in the last few days and the last few years from numerous 'fans' to give me the impression that some 'fans' want us to fail because they believe it will hasten the departure of Levy (and maybe ENIC). Maybe I'm misjudging them.

Well done, would you like a medal? I didn't say all fans, or even all 'ENIC out' fans.

Am I right in thinking that it was Stellini that first started bringing Son off the bench, or did that start with Conte before his time off? I love that approach, and if Stellini thought of it, that tells me he is able to be caretaker until we hire someone else this summer.

I absolutely don't believe we have fans who want the new manager to fail. I accept we have many, many fans who expect the new manager to fail. And recent history fully justifies this when the most successful managers in modern football have failed for the first time in their managerial careers when coming to us.

Massive gamble but the style of football is perfect, would actually fit ‘’to dare is to do’’. Plays a slightly more direct version of Pepball, smashing the championship, only thing is like Pep he won’t back down on his principles, went to City and tried to impose the shit Burnley team on City and lost 6-0 rather than park the bus and lose 3-0 instead.

If we go with someone like Kompany or even Mason, I hope Levy then supports them. There was little to no progress in Poch's first season in terms of performance or results . Give someone at least 2 whole seasons before thinking of firing them. And if there are chants of "we want levy out" that does not mean we need a new manager, it means we want you out you bald prick.

Fair enough - as I said, I just get that impression from reading some people's posts, but maybe I'm misjudging them. I guess time will tell - hopefully the new guy will do well and those same people will be as gleeful as the positive fans. :)

Hmmm' That's an interesting one .

Particularly interesting to see what kind of abuse or expletives get thrown at her by the usual suspects when / if results start turning to shit.

Yes. Very interesting :sonhmm:
Oh it’s coming. Not necessarily to us first or I’d at all, but it’s coming. Next 5 years a women will be managing a pl side. It’s nudging closer and closer.
