Match Spurs vs Brighton, Sat 8 April, 3pm

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A caller on radio earlier (I didn’t hear it—a mate text me to tell me) said apparently that De Zerbi and Stellini were rowing in tunnel before the game kicked off. Don’t know if that’s true or there’s any history between them.
Apparently there is some history from when they played and Zerbi took exception to the comments about Potters Brighton. The commentators on Premier Sport said they heard the fourth official explain to Stellini that the two of them were constantly leaving the technical area to wind each other up and that the red cards were to prevent a serious incident.

I’d like to see the official report on that. Still it gave Mason the reins and we finally got a substution of wage stealers finally.

Both of their goals correctly ruled out by the letter of the law and hushed up another Lloris cock up but it was a nailed on penalty by PEH.

Hard lines - we are still in the red as far as VAR credit goes.

Great win in what was always going to be a tough game. Brighton played good football but I must admit I was delighted with the general attitude from the team. It was a difficult game in periods where the atmosphere was very tough but I thought the players stood up to the challenge well. It would have been easy to slag the players off if they lost that game but very happy we won.

Pleased for Sonny, has been such a fantastic player who doesn't deserve the shit he gets. He's having a poor season by his standards but that goal was fantastic.

Brilliant winner from Harry too, the club need to do whatever they can to tie him down here.

Ignore the title, look at Son and Kane. Lazy bastards.

That was absolutely dreadful. We cannot persist with this for the rest of the season, no matter how little of it is left. The players look lost and devoid of confidence, how we won that game is beyond me.

I loathe VAR, and frankly I’d have given both their goals. Particularly on the first disallowed goal, it’s not clearly off his arm? The second one, from the angle I saw, it looks like it’s his hip and not actually his arm? At any rate…I just think calling back goals such as these so dumb.

And I have no idea what justification they’d have to not give the penalty. It was clear as day.

I’m thrilled we got the win. Clearly undeserving and gives me zero confidence that we’ve got anything straightened out for Bournemouth next weekend.

Just in from game. Feeling a bit deflated to be honest, despite the win and a few pints. Don’t know what the stats say but Brighton had miles more possession. That’s twice this season we have been lucky against them. Great goals though!

Meh, no one's done anything particularly wrong there.

Skipp should look in field to connect with other players but Caicedo keeps showing him further forward. Kane and Son are just trying to occupy space where that play could cut in and continue.

It's a clear foul.
Point is that if Caicedo doesn't foul him and Skipp manages to find an opening there's still no one there to provide an outball. This is one of the reasons we struggle to create chances or score.

Son in particular should have plenty of pace to make an overlapping run to give Skipp something to work with.

Well Kane and Son need to create some width there, it's Perisic who needs to be providing an option directly behind. And he might be standing in that space just out of screen, which is right about where he'd belong.

Skipp going galavanting into open space there is fine, it's just sort of hold up play by other means, but it's a blind alley all the same, he's not going into a place where there is going to be any help.

when son and kane drop in there tho it means nothing, they dont stick it on the oppo they let them have it, they dont wanna get involved in duals and it hurts the team
They aren’t great at dispossessing but they do get behind the ball and block passing angles and do occupy people. Everyone always seem to say we get outnumbered in midfield every week and I don’t think we do really. I made a point today of really concentrating on that area of the pitch and honestly we had more numbers in there than them with the wingbacks tucking in too. So much so that when ever we won the ball we had no where to go

to be fair son gets to the man but he doesnt ever want to engage, ive seen kane take the absolute piss and just not even bother even when the opponent is within 5 yards.

son had the entire flank to run down as soon as skipp picked it up
Yup, if hes' alongside Skipp at 6 seconds in, that's a easy pass for Skipp and Son's through and can just kick it past Dunk to be1v1 with the keeper.

These guys have just gotten so used to not going for the opportunity.
