Yeah. The only way he wouldn’t be my last choice is if Southgate was on the list.

I've done a bit of digging and concluded that Poch & Rodgers are very close in terms of their previous with other clubs. It's utterly irrational isn't it?
I wouldn't put him as the surefire no.1 target, but I'd put him ahead of Slot, Carrick, Kompany and definitely Potter. Fuck Potter.
If we're not getting Poch or Nagelsmann, I would go for Rodgers.
Is that a bad thing ? He hopefully will have learned a lot in those 10 years.
And won more than Spurs in those 8 years since.
I genuinely don't understand Spurs fans begging for a one season wonder like Slot, Kompany, Carrick, people with absolutely no PL management experience whatsoever (and barely any coaching experience at all) but shitting on the idea of Rodgers. PL runner up with a weak Liverpool. FA Cup winner with Leicester and 2 5th placed finishes. Ropey Conference league semi final.
Plays the sort of football Spurs fans claim to want, 352/451 possession and attack minded. Seems to be able to adapt formations and tactics, isn't afraid of earlier subs and rotation.
You know, all the things we've been missing for years, even with Poch in charge.

For me the win % is the key stat with potential Spurs managers.
Style of play must also be a consideration. Spurs next manager must entertain as a minimum requirement.
Levy seems to have abandoned this club philosophy since we moved into the megadome.
Levy has been hiring mercenaries and bounty hunters.
Poch had a win percentage of 38.33% @ Southampton.
Rodgers had a win percentage of 45.1% @ Leicester who are arguably a very similar club to Southampton.
Poch had a win percentage of 65.48% at PSG
Rodgers had a win percentage of 69.8% @ Celtic.
Both these clubs expect to win the league every season and rarely have more than one other club challenging them for the title. Very similar jobs.
Poch had a win percentage of 54.27% @ Spurs.
Rodgers had a win percentage of 50% @ Liverpool.
Poch already has the good will of Spurs supporters.
Rogers has won more trophies in England and outside England.
There really isn't much in it.

Sounds like me and you Danny boy.
Kompany has an equal amount of gamble to Rodgers.
Kompany has an equal amount of gamble to Rodgers.
One is a gamble on a coach that is on the way down.
The other is a gamble on a coach that is on the way up.
Spurs is a club on the edge atm, not sure we should gamble on either. If I had a choice, I'd gamble on Kompany and his upwards trajectory instead of gambling that we can fix Rodgers career at the same time as fixing ourselves.
I don't want Rodgers. And then got his team relegated, or in fact, jumped ship before they got relegated to avoid the blame.
Turned us down at least once during that time.
Is ex-Chelsea (please no more)
He is a known quantity and nobody can argue that Spurs as a club is above the level of Rodgers. Or at least not above the level of when he was in his prime. But he's on a massive downward trajectory now after leaving Leicester in such a mess.
Spurs are in trouble, we need a manager that can help fix the mess. If we hire Rodgers we are hiring him and offering him the chance to be fixed. We can't fix ourselves atm, let alone fix anyone else.
I don't want Rodgers.
I do think Rodgers is a manager that will appeal to Levy.
Rodgers would be highly likely to get Spurs a minimum of Europa League for the next 3 seasons and would probably cost less than Poch and Nagelsmann to hire and fire.
Can you see where this is going?

Because Spurs look likely to be entering a period where the overall wage bill can be reduced and securing Champions League football would be seen as a huge bonus rather than a necessity to pay big wages to the clubs top earners. He spent big bucks bringing in Mourinho and Conte. Why would he scrimp now on hiring a second rate manager that hasn't shown promise for years?
When he could probably hire a more promising manager for a similar price or perhaps even less based on experience?
I think his Chelsea connection is negligible because he never managed the first team.
Getting top 4 whilst competing with the current squads of Man City, Man Utd, Woolwich, Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea will be impossible for Spurs under ENIC's fiscal policies. No Levy fan but he's more ambitious than that. Top 4 has always been his measure of success and he's been consistently willing to hire expensive managers to chase it.
Trophies and winning the league is where you can realistically question his ambition when it comes to transfer and wage budgets.

I think in and around top 4 is a better description of Levy's ambition. I don't think he's too bothered if we only actually qualify every 2 or 3 years or so. After all, he never makes an effort to back his manager when we do qualify to sustain our position. No Levy fan but he's more ambitious than that.
