Using that line of argument..given our record with transfers isn't it better to keep kane rather than sell him?

The way ppl here are going on about selling kane and his value, one would think that proceeds from Kane's sales is going to end up on the PayPal accounts of each fan
Yup - I’m indifferent as to whether we keep or sell Kane - I think with Kane, we get Europa League next season and without him, we’re 8 to 10. So I’m fine to keep him since it’ll be nice to win more games next season and I don’t believe we’ll spend the transfer money from Kane well anyway.

But I can understand why others think we should sell. They have more faith in our transfer strategy than I do.

I was just making the point that keeping him cause you think we’ll get Top 4 and he’ll re-sign is a fools bet. If we don’t sell, Kane will leave on a free next summer. He will have Top 4 suitors.

I understand it. I’m indifferent - it’s lose-lose so so can understand wanting to watch Kane in our shirt for another season. Life is short after all.
From what I've read, he's asked again to be allowed to move this summer. If this is true., then if Levy blocks it again, professional as he is, he won't be inclined to give 100%. Remember last time? If we get a reasonable offer, I think for the good of everybody, he should be allowed to go. He'll always be a Tottenham legend no matter where he goes. He deserves European competition and next season we can maybe offer him conference at best.

It doesn't really make sense from Kane's point of view either.

No one is going to waste 100m+ on a 30 year old with a year left. And he'll know that. He'll either decide to extend within the next 12 months. Or he knows he gets the pick of the majority of clubs on a free the following year.

Maybe I’m being naive but I think a combination of chasing Shearer’s record and knowing he can leave on a free in less than 12 months will keep him motivated. But only Kane really knows.

Agree - I think Kane will be relaxed about it … that’s the hope anyway if we don’t sell him.

Chance of that happening is very low. We have fucked the manager search already and even if we pull a rabbit out of a hat (Nagelsmann) we would still probably need 200-300m of spending.

Next season there will be City with Woolwich, Newcastle, Liverpool, United and Chelsea going for it.

Keeping Kane does however mean even if we totally fuck up this summer we should avoid a relegation battle.
Top 4 battle will be tough next season but, apart from Chelsea and us, all the others going for it have to juggle Europe.

Keep Kane, couple of signings and I reckon we're in with a shout with less games.

Where did you read that?
