This summer highly-placed people at Spurs have to sit down and properly articulate the identity of the club and the style of football they want us to play. From there we need to get in a DoF and manager who will work well together, then begin to clear out the squad - we have too many players past their sell by date, not quite good enough or plain average. We need to make 4 or 5 big signings - a left back, midfielder who can pass the ball forward, left sided centre back, goalkeeper, and then a forward depending on what happens with Harry. It's a really big job ahead and this time the bigwigs at our club need to get it right.

Jury is out for me on whether they will.
I feel the same.

We can argue the merits of the managers we all prefer but, at the end of the day, it's not about whether we get it right, it's about the club getting it right.

Everything you posted above is pretty much the same as I posted a few days ago. Great minds think alike and all that 😀

One thing I don't necessarily agree on though is left back. Udogie has been a beast this season, so we have him to look forward to next season. The rest I'm with you though.

Levy's shambles since Poch has pissed me off as much as anyone but most of all I'm bored.

Spurs have never been boring but the fuck ups are so predictable now it's boring.
You will just be grateful if Spurs play attractive football next season; regardless of who the manager is or who is in the team.

I would suggest that hasn't happened by accident.

Your expectations are now as low as the overall Spurs wage bill will be in the not too distant future.

Levynomics.

I think it's more about trying to steal ideas from City and City Football Group personally. But Can see why you are thinking the worst.
There are worst places to steal from.
Even considering the money at their disposal, they are a very well-run organization who know where to hide the bodies.
Just about every successful tactic in football has been copied and modified through the years.

His managerial career didn't start in Scotland.

You know absolutely nothing about the bloke, his career or the type of Football he has his team's playing.

Better to keep quiet and have people think you're stupid than open it and remove all doubt.

It's more lazy boring narrative.

It took Gerrard nine attempts to win a trophy at Rangers and that was against arguably the worst Celtic team ever and since then Ange has won every single trophy bar one. Whilst Gerrard ran off to the Prem and got sacked.

Gerrard was handed the Rangers job because of his name. Who he is. Ange was given the Celtic job because he had done brilliant at every single club he'd been at prior. He worked for it and has succeed.

I think it's funny that you even think it matters who we get as manager. While Levy it charge, it doesn't matter a jot who we get in charge. The new manager will start brightly enough but get let down by Levy in the transfer market and will get fired inside 18 months.

Rinse and repeat

Oh, fuck up you obnoxious cunt.

You're not some sort of expert so just sit there and shut the fuck up.

Yeah definitely,

Would still prefer to try Nagelsmann and make him part of the furniture. Give him 5 years, get him a front office that fits like Liverpool did Klopp and City did Pep. Let him build a culture.

Stealing from City and taking the managers that idolize Pep isn't a Spurs identity for me.

And when this one dies in the water, who will be "better than Slot and Ange anyway"

The way fans move on and reconcile this shitshow in their head mystifies me.

If we are or want to be a big club, we get the guy who earned his job at Bayern. First choice, all in, make it happen.

Instead we bottle it because he wants to win. We then just stagger around like a drunk, thick, geordie looking for a kebab van at 4am.

And our fans keep on coming up with ways to make that kebab the best possible kebab when in fact, it's undercooked and unseasoned
I've been bigging up Postecoglou since Conte left. The evidence is all there, and I'm not alone. Pretty much all of those on here talking up Ange are the same people who were talking him up previously.

No reconciliation here, as much as you'd like to paint it that way.

Bill Nicholson won nothing as a manager before us, we were his first and, I believe, only club.
Keith Burkinshaw won nothing before us, he was lower division/non-league before us.

Our two most successful managers of all time weren't "names." Poch wasn't a "name" until he came to us with big question marks over him from the off.

I wouldn't be unhappy with Nagelsmann, far from it, but I'd be as happy with Postecoglou as I would with Nagelsmann, as I'm probably a lot more knowledgeable about him than most on here.

You'd love his Football, we all would, including the players.

Yes yes Just like Poch did...

Well said.

Yes. Poch was let down by Levy in the transfer market and the failure to refresh the squad cost him his job. He was exceptional in that it took five years to play out rather than the standard 18 months. That's a testament to Poch's coaching ability. It staggers me that we let him go to Chelsea while it looks like we're about to appoint an Australian Sunday League calibre manager.

It's incompetence to the point of sabotage
