The focus of finding the long-term replacement for Son should be focused on a more consistent and tactically flexible player, which would be helpful attributes.

The incandescent brilliance of Son's runs and finishing ability when he's in top form aren't for sale anyway, no use bothering.

Yeah, another finisher like that isn’t happening again soon.

But a different player coming in with pace and the ability to dribble people and score goals could be.

Ability to pass and play 1-2's with teammates and all that would be good too, that's not the strength of Son's game at all, but there are wingers to be found who excel at that, and our whole squad needs to transition in a more ball-playing direction.

We can forget any notion of transfer activity.

Only a player with an absence of a brain cell wiould sign for a club with no manager in situ and one that appears rudderless.

Knee-jerk decisions are to be avoided but this is frankly ridiculous.

Transfers.... what a joke.

You're 2023-24 Tottenham...

Raya
Emerson - Romero - ? - Udogie
Porro - Bissouma - Bentancur - Gil
Kulu
Kane (Richarlison if Kane leaves)

This will probably be the team so let's just hope we can get Raya and a decent LCB in.

I would be massively disappointed with that, just 2 buys for the staring 11. But totally believable

According to Turkish outlet Skorer, (25/05/23 as relayed by Asist Anal and SportWitness), Tottenham are now willing to meet the release clause of Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson.

Nelsson has had an outstanding campaign at the heart of the Galatasaray backline and has even filled in as a midfielder on a few occasions.

His displays have allegedly caught the attention of Tottenham, with Sporx being the first to report that the Lilywhites ‘have offered’ €13m (£11.3m) for the 24-year-old.

However, the publication revealed that Galatasaray had turned down the offer and made it clear to the Premier League side that they would not be accepting a penny below the centre-back’s release clause.

The report added that Tottenham had not been put off by the request and are expected to try again for the Denmark international.

According to Skorer’s latest update, that has indeed now happened, with Spurs alleged to have informed the Turkish club that they are now ready to pay Nelsson’s €25m (£21.7m) releases clause.

Spurs Web Opinion

Turkish outlets are not the most reliable when it comes to transfer news, which is why I am sceptical about this claim.

Besides, one would not expect Tottenham to finalise any plans regarding transfer targets until they bring in a new head coach or director of football.
What kind of outlet is that, i wanna know more?!

I´ve had some time on my hands(yes i´m pathetic, Spurs is my life) and checking up our players market values on Transfermarkt and made a list of players i don´t think are up to scratch anymore and needs to be sold. I´ve first written their market value according to Transfermarkt, and then in parathesis numbers we could get for them, counting low.

Players not good enough:

Ndombele £22m (£15m)
Dier £22m (£10m)
Royal £22m (£15m)
Sessegnon £19m (£15m)
Sanchez £17,5m (£10m)
Reguilon £13m (£10m)
Winks £10,5m (£6m)
Tanganga £8m (£4m)
Rodon £7m (£4m)
Lloris £3,5m (Free)
White £600k (Free)
Whiteman £300k (Free)
Moura Free (Free)
Lenglet Loan (Free)
Danjuma Loan (Free)

On full market value we would recoup £145,4m for those players, and counting low we would recoup £64m! So let´s say we got rid of all those players we would recoup anything between £64m - £145,4m

And then we have a category of players we should at least contemplate selling to bring in more transfer funds, listed as above:

Players contemplating selling:

Hoijbjerg £40m (£35m)
Davies £17,5m (£10m)
Lo Celso £16m (£10m)
Gil £10,5m (£7m)
Perisic £8,5m (£2m)

With current market value these players would recoup £92,5m, and counting low they would recoup £64m! So we could recoup somewhere between £64m - £92,5m
