Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Nutter, the shite spewing from so many on Twitter is of epic proportions. I've spent most of my Spurs supporting life ripping shreds out of their fans for being cunts, even when they were miles better than us on the park I've always had our fanbase to fall back on.

We've always outsung them. Always had them on the run. Even as a non-violent supporter the opportunity to take part in the welcoming comity on derby day has always been a highlight.

Nowadays it's just cunts crying everywhere.

Not disagreeing at all, but that's the twitter effect too. Increasingly hysterical overreactions because that's what drives engagement and views.

We are going to have to move away from indulging Kane. If a new guy comes in and wants him to work harder then he has to step up. At some point he will move or his numbers go down dramatically so we just can’t keep playing a way to suit him. People talk about we can’t replace his goals and that might be true just now but we must start having a plan in place to move on. That’s why I want a manager that has us playing a style that doesn’t necessarily suit Kane.

This is exactly it, the guy's been fully indulged over the years - Poch actually built a system where we don't rely so much on Kane and sometimes we looked better without him, that's gonna be Ange's toughest job because this whole entire team is geared to how Kane plays and the mentality of the other players is to rely on him.

I'm in for Ange now having discussed him with a good number of friends who support Celtic (I have quite a few, for whatever reason).

But he needs support from a good DoF - that role is crucial and we still don't have anyone in place.

Apparently not working with one in Celtic.

As long as he's OK to work with one and we get one that fits him, then fine.

We could be getting Pep and we still don't want a one-man show.

If the players have any doubts in him they only need to pick up the phone to Joe Hart. These quotes are full of praise.

Celtic are the 10th club Hart has played for, having had several loan spells during his time at City, and Postecoglou has made a major impression on him.

Hart played for Roberto Mancini and Manuel Pellegrini in Manchester.

“He is top, he is really, really good,” the 36-year-old said. “He is really clear in what he wants and the biggest buzz for me is I am playing for someone who is pushing me and I am learning new things every single day.

“I’m an old dog in this game and the fact that I am having to do that and stay on my toes and still want more and trying to improve is a great feeling. It makes me feel alive.

“It’s great to constantly be pushed and get results from it. It’s all very well, there are plenty of managers out there who will push and it doesn’t necessarily work, or players don’t adapt. Credit to the players and staff, we have been able to pull in the same direction and get results.

“I love being part of that. I have played in different teams that have been successful. Identity in football has always been there, but in terms of having a real way of playing, this is the first time I have been part of a team with a real way of playing.

“We live and die by it. I love that opportunity. There’s been many coaches and managers I’m sure out there who say, ‘Look, this is how I want you to play and, if it doesn’t (work), it’s on me’. I have heard that many times.

“But I genuinely feel comfortable making risky passes, short passes, and if someone does miss a pass or a tackle and the ball goes in, I don’t think any of us would even flinch because that’s what we are being asked to do.

“We believe what we have been asked to do and we are enjoying trying to be better at it.”

The big games do not stop for Celtic, with the Scottish Cup and a treble on the line against Inverness on June 3, but first they have the chance to go a full season unbeaten against Rangers when they travel to Ibrox on Saturday.

“There’s no extra motivation,” Hart said. “It’s a huge game for the club.

“We have pulled together as a group. There’s not going to be any fans inside the stadium pulling for us, but we know around the world…Jeez, we went to Australia in November and felt their presence.

“We know there’s going to be support, expectation, and the least we can do is show up with an attitude to win and play our style of football.”

Much the same way Spurs ended up with Nuno. Strike out with the best candidates and then get an agent driven selection.
Full circle. With the exception of JN , the best candidates are guys we don’t want the club to touch with a barge pole.
If we do get Ange,do you think Kylie and Danni Minogue will start turning up at the lane?
Sort of like son and the South Koreans...
A bit different. People don’t follow managers in the same way as they follow star players. Sonny is the most famous player on the most populated continent on the planet. I don’t see Ange ever becoming a Burberry spokesman.
Exactly how I feel. This whole managerless situation has brought out the worst in our lot. Can’t wait till we can get back slating our shit players
The level of derangement is astonishing. People actually think that Levy would risk losing money on a £2 billion asset in order to increase visibility in a country of 25m where football isn’t the most popular sport. And then use a manager —rather than a star player — to do it. Surely, if this were the case, it would make more sense( with less risk) to sign Mooy or Ryan as a squad player.

Seems some fans have had enough of mediocrity and being mocked for our lack of trophies. Good.

Not all is right with Tottenham Hotspur FC, moaning about it on Twitter isn't a problem at all as far as I'm concerned.

The question for me is what leagues does he know? He has recruited very successfully particularly from the Japanese league, but for us I think he will need a little more than this.

No I don’t support the ira. Fuck off. I doubt you know anything about the history of the troubles and the conflict in Nire.

They don’t tend to teach that stuff in English schools.

Im leaving it here. Annoyed with myself for even engaging with your offensive accusations. Have a good day
Haha, pathetic, pathetic parasite.

You think I'm English and know nothing about the troubles. Bigoted and moronic, not your day. BTW, I assume Nire is some way referring to Northern Ireland, because strangely enough, not one person living in Northern Ireland uses that 5erm.

Two months at Espanyol is stretching. It’s not as if a top European club came knocking for more than a decade. His first real stint as a European manager was at Bilbao when he was Angie’s age. And even then, it was Bilbao who are probably Celtic tier on the world stage.
I think you're sounding like a flat earther here, just trying to make up facts to prove your point.
He got picked out by a la liga club at age 43, fact or not fact? This is off the back of managing in Argentina, which isn't a backwater league, is it?
What leagues outside of mickey mouse austrialian and japanese leagues were trying to get Postecoglu at age 43? None. None whatsoever. Fact or not fact?
He only left because his national team, one of the greats of football, asked him to be their manager. Which he did for 4 years then the U23's, winning an Olympic goal. Still well under 50 at this point.
After that, when he resigned with them playing decent stuff and having won the olympics and come runner up in the copa america, he got the job as Chile manager, where he took them to their first world cup in 2 tournaments.
THEN he came to Europe

You can't erase the fact that at age 43 he was offered a job in one of the best leagues in Europe, which he took and only left because his own national team wanted him. That' a hard fact.
Postecoglu on the other hand has been operating in sub par leagues with sub par football for his entire career. Only now is a team from a top league looking at him.
He didn't even have a pro licence when he went to Celtic.

Because he won’t sprint. He doesn’t work hard when we don’t have the ball. He’s always half hearted when he closed players down. Same with sonny. We are the easiest team to play through our press although I can’t actually call it that.
I don't think that's down to either Son or Kane, their job is to cut down passing lanes, it is then the job of the midfielders to attack the player(s) that the ball is being played into. Earlier in the season, we saw both PEH and, particularly, Bentancur do exactly that, resulting in goals.

For some reason that just stopped happening, probably because Bentancur was injured. I also think that those happened when we played a midfield 3, but I could be wrong on that.

A high press would suit Kane, I think. He'll be making the same type of movement to cut down passing lanes, as he would when we're attacking, essentially identifying the right space and occupying it. It's then the midfield's job to either attack the passed to player, or find the pass when attacking, often both in the same move.

High press is more about the speed and energy of your midfielders than it is about the forwards. The exception is Richarlison, but he should work great in tandem with Kane. Passing lane cut off, goalkeeper/defender pressured into a hasty pass, midfield strike. It can be high risk, as your pressing midfielders leave gaps behind, but done properly it's high reward, the two previous examples of PEH and Bents are testament to that.

Bigoted? I haven’t accused of anything. Yes assume your English. I don’t think that’s offensive is it?

Maybe you’re not English fair enough. Apologies for assuming you are. You’re the one that used the term ‘taig’ and I said that’s an offensive word. Please don’t use it. You then accused me of ‘supporting the ira’ again pretty offensive.

Yes Nire is just shortened for Northern Ireland it’s easier to write. I never said it was widely used. Weird .

Also I’m not from the north but Dublin. No interest in any personal beef. Frankly a lot if this thread is. Train wreck. All I’m asking is to avoid pretty offensive term and if you do know loads about Northern Ireland I’m sure you’ll agree it’s an awful word.
