Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Slow day at the office for you or something? You've made the same crying posts all day now. We get it, you think he's not going to do well, and your big joy for the season is saving some ticket money and maybe getting to say "I told you so" at some point.

Life is too short to be a negative "realist" all the time, and you certainly don't need to make the same insufferable post over and over and over again.

Yeah, blind faith and unbridled optimism are what's needed here.

Not crying, just very disappointed with this manager. It's up to him to prove the doubters wrong, not for us to just shut up and follow the herd.

You want differing opinions on here or is just an Ange Fan Club site now?

It's gonna be a tough job for anybody, with high expectations and intense scrutiny.

They take footy seriously up north, he was definitely under a microscope at Celtic.

A bit of a punt, but the initial reaction from a quick online sampling of some (reasonable) neutrals seems positive.

He's a bit of a mystery -- unless you follow Aussie, Japanese or Scottish football -- I don't reckon many will have a strong like or dislike of the man.

Anyone else read this like the Bon jovi song
Not until you mentioned it.

I don't think Postecoglou will get those players performing anywhere near the miracles Conte did.
I want to be wrong. I do. But I can't see anything other than him failing, and quickly.
Get where you coming from.

If it was Rodgers, I’d be convinced of the same.

Thing is, Postecoglou gives me none of those vibes.

I was guilty of making the Nuno Espírito Coglou joke when the link came up but in my defense, I knew nothing about him.

Now, I’m quietly optimistic. Can’t look past that career journey and not realize that he has to have something special about his way with people to do that.

Levy still doesn’t get much faith from me. He’s still convinced he can act like an underdog even though the finances are up there with the giants.

He wants what others have without paying what they paid.

Ange is completely different. Genuinely think he’s going to turn out an elite coach in the Prem.

LMFAO at all these comments about the big fella!!! He will take a broom and sweep the rubbish out of this club that’s for certain, he has done it at EVERY SINGLE place he has managed and this will be no different. He will be ruthless but in a charming way, the moment he feels someone is pulling in the opposite direction they will be swatted aside. Fuck me I can’t wait for him to prove you wrong!!!! It’s gonna be funny watching you all fall in love with him

How is going to sweep away rubbish, when nobody wants our rubbish, we have been trying to get rid of some of these players for years.

For all the stick Levy deserves, this is nothing but bit of good old fashioned Spurs baiting.

this guy has no idea what Ange has or hasn’t been told about budget.
Fits the pattern does it not? Levy tasks each manager with getting more out of the players already here because he thinks they are good enough. He's talking extension with Dire FFS. Whether he's cheap or just foolish all plays out the same on the pitch, under 4 managers running.

It's pretty much the kind of appointment I expected. Having thrown away all those millions on big names, he's realised he can save on a cheap option because the players aren't going to improve no matter who's in charge and he's not going to go on the lash this next TW.
Very disappointing and underwhelming appt...can't see any reason for HK to stay He'll be off to RM asap....
Plus....This manager has no PL experience.
I wish him luck but I'm not expecting a return to the top 4 anytime soon..

Levy probably wants someone to repeat the Poch model where he gets some sustained success without paying for it. He thinks the players here can do it, he only changes the manager.
