Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He replaced Neil Lennon. Who had won........ the treble in 19/20 and...... the treble in 18/19 (well, finished off the treble Rodgers would have won)
Something had gone wrong by 20/21 and, IIRC, Lennon was getting death threats or something from fans.
And despite Celtic finishing way behind Rangers, they only lost 2 more games than the season just gone.

Rangers getting a European final is way bigger than repeatedly winning trebles with Celtic. Way more impressive. And look what happened to Gerrard.
Van Bronckhorst reached the European Final.

I'm at the stage where the manager themselves probably aren't going to make a great difference. You could bring in pep, but with this squad he isn't going to be winning anything in the short term. The key is the (wise) investment in players, only then will having a great manager really matter.

Give my regards to StevenPL when you see him down the Glee Club, mate.

Celtic were brilliant that night but the class finally showed. First time I’ve ever seen players of Real’s quality unsettled by a crowd and Celtic went for them and were unlucky not to go in at at half time 2 or 3 up. Real’s goals were class that night especially the third one.
Finally someone gets my point. And that was Anges first tilt during a rebuild. Where’s Matt18. He’ll have some smart arsed dismissive comment.

I am begging people to give this guy a chance, he’s absolutely grafted his way into this position and history tells us that the managers who do well with us see this as the biggest role that they have had at that point in their careers.

I like him a lot but I hope enough fans will be patient.

He has always been with Furuhashi - the Japanese playing for Celtic. I am a bit afraid if he considers the guy as a replacement for Kane.

Of course I want Kane to stay in our club forever…but just in case.

Sadly I think we're done and I won't blame Ange or even Levy now.

City - worth around £20bn
United, even under poor ownership dwarf our spending ability
Chelsea - despite some deluded fans optimism, will continue to embarrass us financially
Liverpool - sign exactly what they need to improve. Utmost faith in their coach.
Newcastle - worth about a trillion quid. Not even exaggerating. Pep will probably be there in the next few years. Whore that he is.
Woolwich - 7 yeas away from the CL and still backed their coach more than Levy ever will.

I just don't think Levy and ENIC can compete with that lot for more than an out of character season anymore.
Good greif

*City - * have been charged with the biggest fraud in football history. Many of those charges relate to the ones they were found guilty of by UEFA by got off them because they were trimmed barred - The PL charges carry no time bar.
Utd - are one of the biggest 5 Clubs on the planet - But still look a bit shit (good 45mins and shit 45 mins)
Chavs - are losing £2m per wk with CL money, they are now without CL money, +40 1st team players must sell players by 30th June to avoid FFP actions. Added 17 new players (approx £88m annual wages) onto what was 2nd Highest wage bill in PL. Struggling to balance the squad with HG rules. Maxed out matchday revenues from small stadium, unlike us who can for short term cover the loss of no CL football (+£200m generated by new stadium in commercial + Matchday). Manager comps paid out approx £66m. No shirt or Sleeve sponsor £40-£50m. No longer receive the annual top-up loan from RA of £80m. FFP rules change next season - They are fucked.
Liverpool - Has a brilliant coach but their recruit has been a bit shit since Edwards left and decisions made by Klopp. But they are traditionally 2nd biggest football club in the country even though the asterisk club have overtaken them.
Newcastle's entire revenue is 50% of what we bring in just on matchday!!! Their revenue last set of accounts was £187 vs ours £444m our next set of accounts (for this season just finished) will show est £520m, whereas they will report no more than £200m!!!
Woolwich - Couldn't get over the line in a season where their squad racked up by far the smallest number of mins in a world cup that saw ALL of its rivals struggle as a direct consequence due to their players contributing to the highest number of combined mins at the WC, with them also compromised as they (except Man U) were in CL which was condensed in to many games squared in before the WC and because it's CL they are can't rotate heavily, "bigger fish to fry". In addition, they went out the cups early and could rotate in Europa. Zinchenko - 26 apps - targetted by the fans for being shit in the run-in in the games they dropped points in. Trossard - 10 apps all from the bench. Jorginho - 9 apps 5 from the bench. Kiwior - 5 apps 2 from the bench blamed for the goals Brighton scored against them which ended any deluded hope of a title. Tomiyassu 6 starts 15 from the bench slammed by the fans for his performance against City, Bournemouth and Palace. The human pencil Viera £40m - 3 starts (Europa) 19 from bench a total of 500mins for the whole season! "Backing" = over £500m spent and zero trophies!! (The FA Cup he won was with Emry's team!!!). 25 players signed 8 of them already binned off on loans.

As a Scots Spurs fan i think this could be a very good appointment - it could also not work at all but i don't think he's any more of a gamble than the 'proven' managers were in that he is likely to work with Levy a bit more. I don't like the way Levy works and keeps the bargain shopping list handy and pressure on him and ENIC must be continued but it must be easier having the manager at least accepting the current limitations he has rather than constantly moaning about how bad the team is - that can't help players.

There's not much i can add to what others have said about watching Celtic up here other than they just kept going, fast, pressured football. Very rarely have i seen them take the foot off even when a good few goals up. As others have said it's not necessarily about how the Old Firm keep winning that should be noted it's the way that Celtic have done it the last few years, there's been some decent signings but most of it is down to coaching (Ralston and Taylor are prime examples of how he's improved them).

I can't see him taking any players but one who might be worth a punt would be Matt O'Riley. He's been tremendous in midfield and is unlikely to cost very much.
