Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Absolutely.

Remember him being so sour and downplayed the season as soon as the transfer window shut.

Didn’t get what he wanted and was already losing interest.

Whether it would have been good for the club to get him what he demanded is another thing but he might have signed that contract in January,

Who cares now?? I don’t but really hope we don’t see the same pattern with Ange because he doesn’t seem like he pulls his punches either.
Suspect he will be less stubborn and more open to secondary options and willing to concede and flex, but it will ultimately fail unless Levy and his echochamber fuck off away from the club

Time to start the countdown to his first match of pre-season.

Dier in defence, Højbjerg in midfield,

Zomb christens him Flange.

The second reason I’m excited is cause I know he’s gonna get us playing the type of football we all want to see Spurs play. He’s a million miles removed from the two dinosaurs we’ve had in the past 4 years. He will not change his principles for anyone, he wants his teams to play fast, attacking possession based football with inverted fullbacks and midfield runners getting into the box, and constant pressing with his famous motto “We never stop”. He wants his teams to entertain and attack constantly, not just sitting trying to hold onto a 1-0 lead against Everton, a fucking world away from what we’ve been dished up by Conte and José. Give him a bit of time (his first 6 weeks or so at Celtic you could see the players were still trying to adapt to his methods) and I know every single one of you’s is going to love Ange. He’s defo a manager that’ll play football the Spurs way.

He could be the next Alex Ferguson and still this statement wouldn't hold true on this forum :ange-lol:
But thanks anyway, a decent read and couldn't agree more that it looks like he's going to be a breath of fresh air for our club. He has serious guts, his teams play with a strong attacking identity with a relentless never say die attitude, he's also seemingly very likeable. What's more to like?

And no, that's not a canoe in my pocket!!! :ledleylick:

The presenter does touch on a very good point early in the video. With Newcastle being nuevo rich, and Villa and Brighton being up for a few years probably fighting for Europe, we may need to reevaluate what is considered a good season for a while. Because just waltzing into the top 4 and fighting for the CL is not going to be as relatively easy as it has been for a while.

Not my choice but will have to see how it goes. If he's told he has to work with the majority of what's here then I can't see much changing.

Or, as people keep saying, making an impression against actual professional football clubs of at least equal size is a barometer of talent.
Beating pub teams every week is not. It's like playing Fifa on easy and acting like you're some kind of esport champ.

Again, because you seem to ignore everything - I'm not saying he won't succeed. I'm saying nothing he's done to date can be used as proof he will.
The only thing now is to come here and do it. Prove the doubters wrong.
So can you go coach celtic in the scottish league and win the title since it so easy, stop pretending like this guy has no experience at all. We need somebody who fit our style of playing and can cope with levy and company, he has conquered almost every job he has had he has a winning mentality so stop being a depressing koot.

No it wasn’t. They spent 30m this season, 26m in 21/22 (Ange took over), 16m in 20/21, 20m in 19/20, 14.5m in 18/19 and 15m in 15/16. Anything in between these seasons was less than 15m.

In fact Postecoglou is the highest-spending manager in Celtic’s history.

Net spend was 13 mill this season granted for scotland is high
Previous season net spend was actually -11 mill.
While he has spent, the squad needed to be built from scratch again having lost celtics main players to premier league outfits.
Total net spend has been 2 mil.
Obviously the figures are bigger than anything else in scotland other than rangers

My (kind of) Head Coach.

When I was playing, I never truly got on with them managers who'd stay in the office or on the touchline while their assistant/s ran practice. And, funnily enough, they were the ones we had the poorest results with.

I want the boss out there with us, in his trackies and boots, right in the thick of it...observing everything, shouting instructions, giving us shit when we fuck up, praising the lads when they execute nicely.

I don't care whether he played professionally or not, I only give a shit about the manager - and man - he is right now. I want him out there with us, leading the troops. That's how you earn respect, how you get the boys to take a bullet for you.

Ain't got a frigging clue how things gonna turn out for Big Ange at Spurs, and for sure its legitimate to have doubts seen as he has next to zilch elite level experience, but man do I wish him the very best. Proper football man he is, exactly how you want your Head Coach if you're a player, and he sounds like a right good bloke too.

One the few posts of your that I actually agree with.

Contrast the above to the scaffold built for Nagelsmann to look over the training sessions. And people think that JN would have been a better option for a team that needs a psychological boost more than anything else.

It's been easy?!

We've only finished Top 4 once since the 18/19 season and, of course, ZERO trophies.

It seems this appointment has reduced expectations not raised them, Levy and ENIC will be happy with that outcome!

So what does constitute a good season? A top half finish and some pretty football?

Cool, we need to reduce match day and season ticket prices then....halve them in fact.

"You get what you pay for" except when you don't.

I guess the thing I am looking forward to is the total unknown.
All these so called experts opining on what we can expect haven't got a fucking clue. I don't think anyone really knows what will happen.

Levy might develop a major man crush and relax, a lot. Opposition teams, at least for a month or 2 won't know our starting 11, formation, or intention at kick off. That's at least interesting for a while.

Strewth, finally a bit of positivity mate :ange-arms:
