What's your logic? Do you mean it's a good buy he will come good next season under Ange? If so, then so will Dier, Sanchez, Richu, HG and the rest.

It means that a load of players including Kulu were playing below bar due to circumstance/tactics/coaching/apathy etc...not to mention injuries so the chances are he was playing bad was due to symptom as opposed to ability so judging him on last season alone is unfair.

Even you aren't dim enough to fail to see the difference between the targets we are linked with and those that ambitious teams are.

I'm just curious as to how Woolwich have moved past us into that top tier category when financially there shouldn't be much between the clubs. The thought of us being in with a chance of Rice is laughable yet they are odds on to get him.
This is a great question, could it be, that, we could indeed spend , similar money but choose not to.
Instead, finding value in the market, whereas Woolwich actually want, to try and win the league.
Perhaps it's driven from the top, one set of board members pushing the club towards the edge of glory, the other, is happy to, fill the squad with average Joe's, and then hope someone can get a tune out of them.
One of them is on the right path, the other still doesn't know 23 years later.

We HAVE spent similar money to Arse since we opened the new stadium. :avbhumph:

Now now... No call for insults..... : P Simple question put to you.

Why you not keen to answer it?

"How does being strongly linked to a 40m GK and 55m Maddison = 25-30m punts?"

Me, I have concerns about our lack of CB links, but price-tag is of no particular concern.
The chatter is that 40m is nonsense from Brentford and we wont pay that. So yes... it's will likely be in the 30m range.

Maddison with a year left on his deal will not be 55m.

The numbers I stated were those that were prevalent when you posted..... We'll see.

Might like Rice or no Rice.

............Arse we're allegedly flexing ambition to get Vlahovic, Mudryic & Caciedo in the last couple of windows but none of that came to fruition; so I'm not gonna castigate us on the basis of what might happen.

I Guess If You Say So GIF

Lack of leadership, apathy with the general malaise of the club etc

That wasn't the question though Dan was it.
If there was a player, that improved us, would you not want our club to match that level of ambition.
It's not an argument, just curious as to what you want our club to achieve 👍

I know it's not, I'm just asking you whether you think that spending a lot of money on one player signals ambition by the club.

I reckon it's far more important to upgrade on players, not just one player - wouldn't that be silly just spunking big cash on one player in a position that we don't even need to upgrade?

We were a bit of a mess in the second half of last season.

You've got to really ask yourself. Were the teams performances poor because of Kulusevskis form or was Kulusevskis overall form poor because of how poor the teams performances were?

I think Kulusevski has negatives to his game, but when the team was playing well, most of the time so was he. He's an intelligent footballer and I think in a team that's on the front foot, looking to move all about the pitch and create, he's a good player to have around and still only 23 years old.
Looks like it's about to get done, so I'll back the lad and hope he finds his best form again. Cause man, when he was good, he was fucking goooooooooood.

Injuries obviously played a part and yeah so did Conteball and the whole mess at the club last season. Let's hope Ange finds a way to help the kid get his mojo back and that whether he plays 8, 10 or RW, he has a quality year...6 or 7 goals + 10ish assists and we're laughing.

Zlatan does rate the fuck out of him so I'm happy to give the little ginge another chance.
