The transfer fate of Harry Kane could still have a twist in it yet as clubs continue to circle a potential move for the Tottenham striker this summer. The England international is approaching his final year under contract at the club, leading to plenty of interest over a deal.

Manchester United have been the most heavily linked as Erik ten Hag looks to add a forward to his ranks, hopeful of competing near the top again. Real Madrid and Bayern Munich had both been mentioned as options, but it appears as though they will now focus on other targets.

London rivals Chelsea may have thrown their hat in the ring for Kane though as reports state that they have enquired over a potential switch. It could see the 29-year-old reunited with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, though it remains to be seen how likely it is that chairman Daniel Levy will negotiate with direct rivals.

Back in N17, there's naturally fear that if Tottenham don't lose their club record goal scorer this summer, then it could be next year on a free transfer. Recent discussions between Kane and Levy may prove to be hopeful over his commitment to the club long-term though.

There is yet another external threat for the Lilywhites to deal with though as a report from Relevo claims that PSG have begun laying the foundations for a move for Kane. The Ligue 1 champions are currently assessing new manager options, but want to add a striker to their ranks regardless.

Victor Osimhen and Randal Kolo Muani are said to be options for Le Parisiens, but interest in Kane from their side appears to be gathering momentum. With the high profile loss of Lionel Messi confirmed alongside a potential exit for Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, the desire to add a forward or two is clear.

It remains to be seen whether they'd be able to break through in negotiations for Kane though, seeing as many have tried and failed up until this point. The other option could be to make an approach on a free transfer next summer, though battling the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could be tough.

For Tottenham it brings up a huge decision that will have to be addressed again, whether they risk letting their top scorer leave on a free or cash in on him this summer.

But they never get a chance! All we do is keep buying players from overseas as they must be better. Take danj, we loan out Gil, get danj in fir whatever reason , pay a loan fee abd wages then don’t play him at all. Surely someone like Devine could have been given an opportunity in this case?
I totally agree but Devine must not be deemed good enough. I’m pretty sure Mason would have put a couple in if they were up to it. I think our youth system is pretty poor because I honestly can’t remember the last one that came through and played regularly. Correct me if I’m wrong but it must be a decade since the likes of Carroll,Mason,,Livermore broke through and they were average. Skippy is in just now but most of us know he won’t be a regular.
That is a very poor return for a club with the pull of Tottenham and in the London area. Even more so now with the facilities that are provided.
You then have to look at how they are getting coached and by whom.
Out of academy players that I can think of there is only about half a dozen I can think of who played more than 150 games for the first team. Howells,Samways,Campbell,Ledley,Rose and Kane. Again correct me if I’m wrong as I’m sure there must be more.

Its a tough life being a journalist.

A quiet news day. 'What can I write about ?'

Ooh what a good thought, I haven't written about Kane leaving Spurs for months - so it'll seem so original when I do. Just need to make sure I don't repeat word for word what I wrote last year !

Harry won't be going anywhere.

I have been saying for quite a while that the youth system at our club is so poor.At least the under18s have done well this year but the under21s were bottom of their league. With the large cachement area we should be getting better youngsters or is it down to poor coaching. We now have now added Defoe to our youth coaching so maybe he can inspire

I'm not saying it's going to happen, but Gil may very well thrive in Ange's system. I think it is too early to write him off just yet. Let's give him at least half a season in a proper attacking system and then we can truly gauge.
I like Gil but I don't think he is someone that can do what Son does. In an Ange 433 imo he wouldn't be one of the front 3.

This is the gauntlet of any form of egg boiling. Scrambled you can see what you have.

Add some lea and perrins, toast with baked beans. Earl Grey. Basically idiot proof.
If I have scrambled eggs, I always add a dash of chilli and tobasco, with a sprinkling of jalapeno peppers, Green/Red peppers and Onion.

Great brain food and wakes the metabolism up sharpish.

Plus it tastes great.

Not big in Earl Grey personally, but I do love PG Tips.

Consistent with the general malaise throughout the club, lack of leadership and investment - bungled, incoherent jumble

A report in Spain claims Tottenham have now made an offer for Harry Maguire as Manchester United seek an exit route for the defender.

The 30-year-old is almost certain to leave Old Trafford this summer after falling down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag. Despite still being a regular for England, the centre-back started only eight top-flight games for the Red Devils last term. He made 16 league appearances in total and played 31 times in all competitions.

Having enjoyed 102 Premier League outings across the previous three seasons, Maguire’s fall from grace has been spectacular.

Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane are the Dutchman’s preferred partnership. And even left-back Luke Shaw has been preferred to Maguire on occasions.

It all points to a summer exit from the Theatre of Dreams. Both Newcastle United and Tottenham have been linked.

But it is the latter who seem to be further along in their efforts to secure a deal.

Ex-Liverpool star Stam Collymore urged the Sheffield-born star not to move to north London, suggesting Aston Villa would be a better destination.

However, according to Spanish publication Fichajes, Spurs have now tabled a bid for the experienced stopper.

There is no mention of the price they are willing to pay. United forked out £80m for the rangy centre-half but are unlikely to receive anywhere near that amount.

That is EXACTLY why people are hung up on it.

Spurs haven't done this for ages and Maddison on the surface looks like ANOTHER example of not doing that.

Why wouldn't this be the case though?

In what world Why wouldn't Ange want to work with Maddison, he's played under Rodgers who preeches a similar philosophy and has played on the front foot pressing team before?

I'm trying to understand this narrative...

We've neglected our youth system for a good number of years which for a club like ours who don't go out and sign ready made superstars is fucking criminal, really has annoyed me how we have disregarded it.

Because it comes off as a player that Levy has offered to his last 2 managers regardless of the styles of football they play.

Some people have very legitimate concerns about him pressing and his injuries. Especially for the money it will take to sign him.
