There’s a reason swap deals don’t happen in Eng. I dunno what that reason is though 😂 I assume the swapper has to be willing to take a step down which limits these deals? Tangana may be open to Leicester but I doubt the others would, poss Sess
I've deliberately stated Winks and Tanganga there because that's their level now.

I'd be surprised if Japh wouldn't be interested in a move there if he got more game time and he would.

We need to off load players, surely we should be exploring options of offers with players.

If we bid 35 + Winks and Tanganga for Maddison and Barnes. That's a fair deal. 2 HG players each and the quality in players if offset with a price. Leicester are also a club that might be able to ressurect a career in those 2.

Additionally, if we go for van de Ven we could give them a CB or even Sess who has played recently in Germany for Hoffenheim and actually think the Bundesliga suits him better.

3rd option, if we are interested in Tosin why not just straight swap Sess. He goes back to Fulham, a club he knows well and they are still in the PL. If they value Tosin at £15 million I think that's a fair price for Sess. We would make a £15 million loss but that's reflective of his performances and injury history.

I think we need to be smarter with these deals. We aren't ever going to pay the asking price, and negotiating down a few million won't make much impact.

There's still a scenario IMO where you could get Tapsoba, van de Ven, Tosin and Maddison without spending 200 million. The massive plus is offloading players.

Would Xabi Alonso as a Spanish speaking manager want Sanchez in reverse? I could see Sanchez being happy to move there. Same with Dier. £40 million + Sanchez/Dier for Tapsoba is a fair deal.

Then you front up money for Scott and say Bristol can have him back and we knock 5 million off their price for that.
These clubs generally want £, they'll trust their scouting to bring in younger players, with higher potential and on lower wages. As opposed to trading in the likes of Winks, Sanchez, Sessegnon, Dier who are over 26yo (excepting Sessegnon), have little resale value and make 50-100k. Why accept our unwanted players when Wolfsburg can sign some lad from the Belgian league who could be worth 30m to them in a year or two, and will be paid 8-12k per week? I do think Tanganga will have interested suitors, but he's another one we've not acted decisively on, poor lad hasn't played regular games for years now.

I expect Winks probably sees himself as having a chance of breaking back into the Eng side with regular PL games. Don’t see him dropping down unless it’s a six month loan tbh. Agree though, let’s get creative to move players on

Issues with that:

Deadwood doesn't see themselves as deadwood, most joined a team chasing champions league so won't see themselves as a championship player.

Levy also has unrealistic ideas of the value he can ask.

The fact that it's been so slow on outgoings isn't a great sign.
It doesn't even seem to be a good deal that occurreed with Gil, one that we did a part exchange plus £30 mil IIRC.

No, I'm just thinkiing that we haven't got much out of Gil so far for the money, and I'm not sure he's suited to English football, isn't that why he went back on loan? A bit like Lo Celso.

We def haven't much out of him I agree there.

The constant managerial chaos and flip-flopping from play style to play style is what we can thank for that.

He def wasn't suited to Conte ball. Ange? maybe... he's really good 1v1 and at his best out wide. Also great engine and tenacity to press.

It's slow on outgoings because of two things ;

1) Everyone knows that we're desperate to offload.

2) The players we want to offload are shite.

People keep saying Levy is asking too much, but the fact is that we haven't had an offer for anyone of these players.

If we get an offer, they'll go. If they have one year left and we have no offers they'll be released.
The same way Doc and Aurier were.

Yes he might be better with Ange's style of play but that's not why we bought him, both of Paratici's manager appointments didn't suit Gil, so the question is answered there, he wasn't a good purchase.

And as if with every new manager, he might want to see and judge everyone himself. I reckon there maybe one or two we thought were done here that may end up surprising us as squad options

Under Poch, we had alot of deadwood that ended up staying in his first season. Barring Livermore who was sold early on in the summer window, we pretty much sold anyone else in the last week of the window once Pochettino could determine whether or not the players were good enough for his system.

Im surprised that it has taken so long but football London are reporting ange wants to bring ccv back from Celtic.
All I know is Leicester win a league by Robert huth heading out anything within two foot of the six yard box .
We have no defenders that can head a ball.
