Not two but at least our top target needs to be part of these pre-season games. As you rightly said, integration is key.

You are easily amused. I actually wrote 'Ange and the recruitment team'. So Ange may be crystal clear, but Gabannini and others might take a different view. Especially if they've been lining up targets well before Ange started.

Consider Pep, who identified very specific CB profiles, and City then following through in buying Ake and Akanji, neither considered 'top' when they were bought, but fitting Pep's idea perfectly.

I hope Ange has an equally clear idea of what he wants, AND the recruitment team are fully in synch. Remains to be seen however.

Yeah,Ange will know exactly what he wants. Our recruitment team have done ok so far but it’s the time it’s taking. Maddison,Vicario and Solomon are all good signings. When it comes to Centre Backs we are far too fucking slow. It’s such an important position and we always seem to be fucking about trying get them cheaper. I get trying to wheel and deal but we could end up missing out because we won’t just pay what clubs want. I don’t think we can fuck about when it comes to centre backs considering how shit the ones we have are apart from Romero.

It's a fair assumption that the reason we can't get both are budgetary, as the second CB we are reportedly interested in is Tosin, who will be considerably cheaper than both Tapsoba and VdV.
