Lol mate. Your quoting your reply to someone else. I'm not disagreeing with you. I replied to your comment about one player might not want to play second fiddle.
There's nothing to prove.

Yes squad players who increasingly played more and more to the point they played more than their superior colleagues. It was regression. We'd even sold Dembele 6 months before the CL final without a replacement at the same time as Wanyama had basically become broken. It was piss poor squad management and hurt us.Only if you insist on highly contentious use of such terms (see below).....
They weren't "replacements"... They were "squad" players.
(*Winks less so than Sissoko, granted; as Poch loved him and didn't even drop him when we did bring TN & GLC in.... But as I already pointed out Winks was still considered a bit of a player back in 17 & 18.)
Surely you're not of this gymnastic mindset where as soon squad-players are called upon to supplement injury etc. they're no longer to be considered squad players and should suddenly be criticised on the basis of having first XI status.....????
We (eg) bought Aurier to "replace" Walker.
We bought Ndombele to "replace" Dembele.
We bought Vicario to "replace" Lloris.
By your reckoning here we bought Forster to "replace" Lloris just because circumstances led to him having an extended stint in the starting XI.
He suffered a big knee injury (having 2 lengthy spells on the sidelines) and - as I literally just said - when he eventually returned and it was time to prove himself once again in 18/19; he couldn't.... And the squad players (HW & MS) bridged the gap until the summer.
We were still to be considered a damn good team in 17/18 (Let's not pretend otherwise!) and had a good league finish (77 points... 7 points higher than our so-called title challenge in 15/16!) and a good CL run despite playing away from home all season......... Battering Liverpool, Real Madrid & BVB at Wembley and a seriously impressive game away to Juve + reaching an FA Cup semi (which was OUR trophy to win that season and we blew it!).
.........All that despite missing big players from the prev. season for significant spells (Rose, Kane, Wanyama).
Tapsoba and VdV will both be significantly more expensive than Tosin, who has one year left on his contract.
Lol
The reality is of course that no one thing is to blame for our lack of success.
ENIC take some blame.
Managers take some blame.
Players take some blame.

If we get the two centre halves, I will be pretty happy. We need two though.
If the issue with buying both Tapsoba and VdV wasn't budgetary, our alternative CB options would be in the similar price range as them. That's the fundamental point.Again; not really the point....
Nor is it set in stone who our targets are.
£80m plus reasonable add ons. 2-4 installments, I’d probably bite. But Levy needs Kane to reject the new contract offer before he accepts any bidControversial but if he refuses to sign a contract extension this summer then that offer is worth considering, especially if it can be bumped up a bit.
Losing him for nothing in 12 months to a Premier League rival would be dogshit. At least this way we have money to get someone in to compete with Richarlison.

If he has rejected the new contract, sadly…
I don't really know what you're disputing, the data is pretty evident. Sure there were other factors but let's have less of the mental gymnastic talk and talk of Forster who I never mentioned and deal with the facts. And Aurier was an example of weakening the first team as he wasn't as good as Walker.
Here are some facts:
Wanyama played in 4 seasons:
36 games 16/17
18 <<< 26 games missed due to big knee injury
13 <<< 23 games missed to to further repercussions of above knee injury
2
Dembele:
30 games 16/17
28
10 <<<< Big drop off in appearances
