I think you over estimate your own experience and level of knowledge, I can tell by conversing with you that you have probably only been a member of a team in mergers and acquisitions, a small cog easily replaced. I’ve seen this before and we might work in similar fields, you’ve met some of the big boys and got involved in a few deals at a lowish level and therefore fee you have this superior knowledge.

I can tell though that you know a little bit more than the average bloke on the street, but deep down you don’t really know a lot.

It’s great you are relaxed about the CB situation, you probably don’t need to be on here debating with me about it, you can relax and enjoy your evening. I will worry though because I feel it is a problem.
And therein lies your problem. You have formed an opinion about someone you know absolutely nothing about and presenting it as fact. And you are doing the same with your transfer arguments: little to no knowledge of how they work, yet absolutely adamant that we are going about them the wrong way.

In the spirit of strategy and planning....

How far down the list is fitting to stoop to by week 2 of the window? #5? #10? Presumably option Z (aka #26) is 10.59 on deadline day? ... Is it linear scale? ...When should a club shit themselves?

What number is Max Killman on your list?
The speed of concluding the deal would have been high on my list, I believe great CB pairings are more than just the talent of the individuals, it’s about understanding.

I don’t have a list, it’s not my job, it’s the clubs. But Lenglet was a no brainer for me, instant upgrade on Sanchez, Tanganga and Rodon - at a good price, league experience and knows the team.

Starting Lenglet and Romero in Oz whilst we wait to try and get a better CB would have been preferable to playing Romero and Dier/Rodon/Sanchez/Tanganga

There’s absolutely no need to pay Barca 10m.
They are still in financial difficulty and struggling with La Liga’s wage cap. They still need to reduce their wages. I believe they’re in litigation and trying to get relief through the courts.
Lenglet has no other suitors and no club outside England can afford (or will take on) half his current wage. We can afford to wait until the end of the window.
Well fine if that’s the case, even more reason then to get another CB in quicker given the circumstances of Lenglet mean we have to wait

I’d fucking love it if we got success.

I like the Vicario and Solomon signings.

But

Fuck this bullshit they are pulling on the CB targets and if they don’t bring in 2 top CB targets this window, after raising ticket prices despite the playing squad being a ducking mess, then fuck Levy.

I could have tried to get tickets to the Barca game but not spending a penny on the club until Levy puts the same focus on the playing staff as he does the real estate business.

Where do I fit into your evaluation?
Levy, Levy,Levy, shut up mate for God’s sake change the record.

It's not projection; your comments just reek of insincere hyperbole.

The fact is Lenglet played way more than Sanchez - and he was shit in doing so - so what the fuck you even talking about? .......If you genuinely think the addition of one of the other 4 you list here (to the ranks of Romero, Lenglet + 1) in turn knocks 20 odd goals from our conceeded tally from last season then you're a poor judge of this game.
If it knocks off 5 it’s an improvement and at the least would likely have gotten us Europe last year.

You seem to be a guy that loves an echo chamber and feels he needs to attack anyone that doesn’t agree with him - sorry chum but I don’t agree with you.

I didn't ask you for a list (for the purposes of my question it doesn't matter who's on it)..... I asked you to summarise and quantify your strategically superior insight on the matter. Tellingly you declined to do so.

Not really...... Combos of Dier, Davies & Sanchez helped get us into the CL the year before last. Lenglet played 35 times last season and we got nowhere close.

Despite your proffesional prowess; I'm not hearing strategy... Just (premature) panic buying.

Nah. I think we will get him. He's just on holiday after that under 21 tournament. Will probably come and sign after that and join the squad down under late with Skipp.
Skipp was on the flight today so not taken the 3 weeks off he's apparently allowed (u21 final was 6 days ago). VDV 's Netherlands were knocked out in the group stage so if we signed him today he would prob be allowed another 3 or 4 days

I meant riding the momentum wave the Gooners did last season with their fast start.

We’ve failed to address our biggest failing. Only 5 sides scored more than us, only 5 conceded more than us - even Dave down the line can work out we might be a bit weak defensively so should probably address that first.

2 months to go, but 3 days until our first friendly - wouldn’t it have been nice to start building a CB relationship straight away? Instead we will be starting a pair that no one wants to see playing in the Prem next season - a wasted opportunity
I'm sorry, you totally lost me here. What does Woolwich's start last season have to do with how we'll start this season?

This is not an attack at all... There's nothing going on here other than robust debate. You post with your chest well and truly puffed out (especially to begin with; before you became faced with some fairly formidable counter-arguments)..... Now you object to similar?

I was just returning the compliment to your mate who seems to think he is some high flying brain. Apologies if I offended, but he seems to be under the impression that he knows more than he actually does
