Just clarifying my OG post regarding a loan back to B'burn likely not meaning much game-time. I've not projected anything onto you and made no suggestion of what he could or couldn't do for us.

If that's the vision; so be it..... However, my default worry is that we starve our young players of game-time like we did KWP, Onomah, Tanganga and or subject the to a crap development plan like Clarke, Gil, Rodon etc.

We've been making a pigs ear of it for years now..... Even Nkudu could have been better handled.

Everything depends upon a manager determined to bring youth through from the academy - something we have not had for a decade.

And arguably a DoF or Technical Director looking at youth and helping to ensure suitable loans working in conjunction with the manager

No self-entitlement is thinking that a team is going to sell you their emerging stars when they don’t have to just because you’re a bigger team.
Now we have the definition straightened out, let’s start over shall we?
are you seriously saying that we haven't signed a cb because teams.. "don't have to sell"?
Newsflash. No club has to sell unless they're in financial trouble.
Isn't it far more likely Monsieur levy is haggling around on the price?
Nope, still unclear on the definition.

Bingo.... My OG point (emphasis on "suitable").

This wouldn't make the poster entitled. For example I want Jennifer Lawrence before my girlfriend gets back on Saturday. I have zero expectation this will happen. I think it's odd the level of importance some place on fans sounding off on the internet.
Entitled: Chambers
believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

The above definition really does not sound like posters in this forum I have read.
If you think there aren’t entitled posters on here then you are in a small minority of people with above average IQ who think that. Kind of like being a smart brexit voter.

You're giving me your interpretation.
You said the club doesn't have to sell.
I gave you a reason why no club has to.
I then suggested why we haven't signed a cb.
The fans frustration why we haven't improved a central defence already with 3 weeks til the season starts,a central defence that shipped SIXTY THREE goals last year, is valid.
This is not self entitlement.
As regards man city's pursuit of our striker.
They didn't offer enough money.
Every player has a price George.
Even Harry Kane.

I mean…tbf I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have got our main cb target in before the tour.

Would’ve understood getting that one in and then securing a second during/post tour.

I’m pissed off that we haven’t sorted that yet. Two good cbs (or at least 1 excellent and another with high potential) and that would make this a superb window.
Cool - if we had a choice everyone would go for that. I’m with you.

The reality is we don’t unilaterally set the timeline for the good players we want to buy. If we have our sights set on Tabsoba and think a deal might be done by waiting and have VdV ready to go in a week if Tabsoba is impossible to get done… then that would be a great strategy and worth holding out.

Also, unless I’ve missed it, you’re not on here moaning about the fact we haven’t signed a CB by your own arbitrary deadline.

In practice, that’s not true. A billion dollar release clause says this player isn’t for sale under any circumstances.
Asking 120m for a 30 year old with a year left on his contract says the same.

Another well worn, but only works as a hypothetical adage that sits right alongside; "Pay enough and they will come"........

Practice and reality in modern football are very different things in my view George.

If man city had offered 250 million for kane, A figure that sheikh mansour probably thinks is peanuts, levy would have sold.
