We're not getting £100M from Bayern, that's why this story has been leaked.

If it is indeed true that he definitely won't sign, then this gives more leverage to BM.

Who outside of other English clubs could afford to pay that amount? Real Madrid?

Until RM show an interest, BM know we'll not sell to a rival, so they are effectively getting a free run at him.
 
We must be leveraged up to our eyeballs because as far as I can see we must not be able to afford a CB and must not want to withdraw the final £50m.

That is the only way to explain the hesitation when it comes to signing a CB. Also may be the reason we are willing to listen to offers for Kane, the only explanation is that we have been financially fucked by the interest rate rises. This is the only explanation for why we do not have a CB before the tour.

Forget 100m that’s Levy trying to give it the big one.

If Bayern are offering a fee close to €90m then you take it if Kane isn’t extending this summer.

If he’s still here, the speculation dominates our entire season, same way it did with Conte.

I agree PEH is a very good player and gets slack from some for no reason on here, he does what he does very well. He is no Iniesta or Modric but for fucks sake’s, he scored four goals last year and played every fucking minute of every fucking game. Add in the fact that he’s been asked to play in that shit fucking Conte and Mourinho teams. Far from our biggest problem

Pretty sure all our loans are long term and on fixed rates. There are some other plausible explanations like the player wanting to see if other teams are interested, the selling club wanting to sign a replacement first, Ange wanting to see what he's got/needs etc. It seems quite a lot of deals are taking a while to be completed and I wonder if clubs/players are looking to see if the Saudis will come in with big bids too. Does look like we are just being tight gits though but I will reserve judgment for the end of the window tbh.

Not just Ange it’s what the club have needed for 4 years. Not just one we need two. I guess you put the Gallagher links in sane bracket as rich. He would cost upwards of £40M which we don’t appear to have to spend on a CB. Again another underwhelming player. Why go for him when there are far better players who play that role. Plus we also have enough 8s in the squad. I’d rather see Sarr/ Alfie/ gio / ndombele given a chance.
