if we can’t afford to buy a CB until Kane is sold, what was the actual budget this summer?

Basically (overly basic but you get me) we had the first instalments for:

Vicario 20m
Maddison 40m - Winks 10m
Solomon - free so far but maybe 10m

We are looking at a summer budget of 60m

I still don't think no Kane sale = no CB money.

Just feels like Levy is being painfully slow/cautious.

People act like everyday is the last day of the transfer window or the season starts tomorrow.

I get the frustration. I’m frustrated too. But a CB could probably get here the day before Brentford and still be fine.
It doesn't work like that Macch, you don't sign a guy a few days before the season starts and just throw him straight in at CB. And if you do its a huge gamble. Players need to get acclimaticized to the system, and to their team mates. You might get away with it more with an attacking player, but a CB?

We needed CB's a month ago, it was the key weakness in our squad. I don't believe anyone would dispute that.

That's why people are pissed

TFC seems to think Spurs are in complete chaos - certainly lots still to do but not chaos.

Worth looking at other teams though to compare ...... and curiously other teams don't seem to have everything right either.

I think a lot of surplus’s players will go , but while the window is still open for a while yet I can’t see a fire sale, surely the sensible thing to do is to pimp them out first and gauge the interest , then towards the end of the window take the best offer you can ?

They’ll all go on loan (if anyone wants them) rather than sales. Can see it coming a mile off. Nobody wants to pay a fee and wages for them. Our shite transfer business haunting us for years.

Levy’s decision making.

It’s not just shite transfer business.

It’s buying players for managers then sacking them and bringing a manager with a totally different style.

It’s what happens when you have a control freak that doesn’t understand what he’s doing

I get where you're coming from with this angle, but Jose/Nuno/Conte aren't exactly worlds apart.

Meanwhile a transition was always inevitable if peeps wanted a switch back to our so-called DNA.
