Got a better idea...whatever we would spend on Kessie (fee, signing bonus x 2, wages etc), use it to sign a proper CB instead, as in a finished article kinda guy.

We really don't need Kessie even if Hojbjerg goes, I don't think he brings anything to the table we don't already have, when Bentancur is back fit I don't see who he displaces out of Bentancur-Bissouma-Maddison to get in the starting XI. In a CL year I could understand it for more senior depth but makes no sense in this window if it's contingent on getting the Kane money (which it probably is).

I don't know much about Udogie apart from seeing him play two 45 minute sessions in the pre-season matches, he did look a bit ropey defensively, as does Porro, so the alternative is to play as you say Davies at LB, and Emerson at RB... But then we have over £60M worth of FBs/WBs sitting in the bench plus Spence. It’s a real shit show said it in another post. Why we didn’t just an option to buy clause in Porto’s deal. In Jan we knew cunte was not staying and he looked disinterested yet we still pandered to his whim with a £40M play who is neither a quality RW or a FB.
