Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Kane has the konch here.

It talks of a completely broken relationship with Levy.

It asks now what impact if Kane stays on Postecoglou and the team.

in truth Kane going to Bayern is fcukwittery of the highest order, but should he stay it's more of this for another year.

And who will Postecoglou make Herr Captain???

I think Kane can be pretty cold and calculated at times, the Neville interview confirmed my suspicions, and with Charlie and his Dad in his ear, looking at the bumper payout/commission it's far from done.

His kids wont be going to the local comp, they'll also be mixing in quite different circles, and in five years most kids will have forgotten his name... So the abuse they'll get isn't much of a concern. I get the impression if staying another year and leaving on a free is best for him that's exactly what he will do.

What's the worst that will happen from his POV? He will move even closer to the Shearer record, bag good wages and minimum of £40m moving as a free agent, much more than the BM deal, and if he wants to stay in the prem, that will be his decision that nobody can do a single thing about.

I mean if we accepted a bid without asking him if he wanted to go that's pretty embarrassing. But obviously he is off anyway.
I think he did want to go as the season ended but he probably likes Ange & thinks it’s fine to stay one more season . He can then go where he wants

I highly doubt he’ll be signing a contract though . He’s did that once before & Levy immediately said “ No to English teams” at the start of the window . If he signed a contract he’d do that again .

At the end of the day, he's a person the same of us. Right now the idea of me transferring to our office in Singapore would be really appealing. If they put an actual offer on the table though I'd probably brick it and stay in the UK. And I don't have 50 kids like Harry does. This is an enormous decision for him and his family. Can't blame him for hesitating.
I get it, but he also had over a month to think it over, and has had a verbal agreement with Bayern.

The club is no longer willing to remain uncertain about Harry's intentions. While he initially set the pace, the club has since caught up, and Harry now appears hesitant about that potential move. Spurs' willingness to keep him hinges on a commitment, which Levy is now pushing for. While this doesn't necessarily imply an impending new deal, the club is keen to avoid a protracted saga and prevent Harry from gaining leverage after the transfer window closes.

WLB x

lol
Which is exactly what should be done.

Badge on the front bigger than name on the back.

Disgraceful from Kane if he really wants to run down his contract to join another prem club.

This was an opportunity for him to help out the club with the rebuild by agreeing to join Bayern for €100m

He has disgraced the club, Big Ange and Bayern Munich.

That was the money that could have really helped the club in this difficult rebuilding phase

Re the replacement part, I don't agree really that this has vandalised our season. He was always going, we have left it later than ideal maybe but that gives us better payment terms and more flexibility in the transfer market, with his replacement already here.
Yeah, not sure this passes muster. Always leaving? You got some betting receipts to show us? This Bayern deal caught everyone by surprise when it surfaces...it was always ManU and then the deal was too rich. I think it's a stretch to say this now.

Again, if this situation happened to ANY other club (let alone Arse, WHam, or Chels) the peanut gallery on this board would be wanking themselves silly it is such a fucking catastrophe. And the oft-injury, goal shy Brazilian as the replacement? My god we would lose some of our older member to MIs.

Yeah, not having it.

I was disagreeing with the tweet rather than your analysis of it.
gotcha...but it's still feels pretty sound. Losing your best player that just scored 4 goals to see you past a pub team is not great. And Richy doesn't inspire...and no one can see 30 additional goals between Sonny, richy, and Kulu to make up Sir Harold's loss. I mean, it's fucking Harry Kane!

I dont really think it's cruel on the fanbase.
It's just a sensible negotiating tactic.
Ok, but like was said earlier, this isn't the last day of the windown so presumably ANY final day of negotiaton could have been chosen. Many teams do this so as not to disturb the upcoming season. Remember BVB announcing the Sancho date and then sticking to it? How about Soton to Liverpool? This is how it is done at most well-run clubs.

The will he or won't he is stupid and intentional...it keeps us in the news as much as alters leverage. The particulars of this deal were known weeks ago...this allow DL to get opportunistic buys AND protects him fromt he fury of the fans because the anger will not have time to build because the games are back.

All might change if we get 2 from 8...here's hoping!

Sure, not in terms of the window but are you attempting to suggest that losing your best player 3 days before the start of season would NOT be considered a "late bid" by 99% of fans for other teams?
Actually, yes I would. If this was Bayern's first offer/interest then it would indeed be late, but as part of a protracted interest over the summer? Not really.
Neither did we say he was for sale either. And the same machinations and leaks happened during the City summer and there was NO negotiation. The only public this was Pep saying there was no negotiation but other than that it was the same rumours that your are dismissing now.

This is fun.

What on Earth are you on about regarding City? Entirely different situation. One, in fact, where Levy held firm because he was actually able to do so (i.e. 3 years remaining on a contract). Are you implying that I'm 'dismissing rumours' when I point out that 'not for sale' is a very obvious and common negotiating position?

Again, now the whispers are invalid, huh? I bet I could search your post history and find multiple posts informed by these whispers...but now you're getting all epistemological here...everyone's seen the reports of 100M...

Golly gee, some speculation on a Spurs forum? Unlike Martin I'm happy not to treat something as an absolute - he's the one lamenting 'the board' accepting a fee below the apparent acceptable price.

who fucking cares who did it...but in evaluating the situation only a moron would think Bayern would have anything to gain from leaking it as it clearly puts MORE public pressure on Kane, right?

So waht was your point?

I'm going off of Bayern's very public proclamations throughout this entire summer. It would be very in character for them to be the source of this story breaking today, leaving Kane as the final decision maker. Don't be a fool, Martin Cloake's implication was that Levy and co. were responsible for this to try and heap blame onto Kane to save face.

Is there a point in there? Probably not because it's eminently reasonable to conclude what he did with the factual points he made. Factual points, I might add, that you have barely scratched with your rebuttal.

You can throw word salad my way, Todd, but don't think I consider it convincing. My 'rebuttal' by its very nature pointed out that his 'facts' were either flawed or acted like he'd never seen this kind of transfer unfold before.

Lest we forget this is all in the shadow of a transfer saga where our club has very little leverage and an enormous financial risk in the form of letting him go for free next summer. In that context, it is unsightly for Cloake, among others like Ricky Sacks, to lose their shit publicly (and embarrassingly) without seemingly offering any balance about the situation.
