If Kane rejects the BM offer, I think he will either sign a short term contract with us (with a release clause) or sign a long term one , ending his playing days with us.

I don't even hate him for it, that's how he does his business, completely unattached from the romance of the club.

But I dislike the way he runs OUR football club because football as a supporter IS about the romance of it all.

It's the same reason I can't fucking stand politicians who lack empathy but do everything in the name of business.

Over the long term I feel when the only focus is business and you forget that human emotion is involved, that's often when things fall apart, it's the reason most businesses go under, they forget about caring for their customers.

My instincts around him have always been that he is a wrong un, Good Business man but as long as he is putting bums on seats gives little to no fucks about trophies, but your politician analogy is superb and bang on the money.

Ok, hear me out...what if, let's say HK was really pissed off about 2 summers ago. Let's say he's been steaming for 2+ seasons. Let's also say he decided that fateful day to leave on a free and not allow DL to profit 1 red cent from his perfidy. Would not this be the perfect way to do it? Now DL knows exactly the amount of money he's cost himself AND HK has a negotiating marker for signing bonus/contract for Jan and/or the summer.

From the player's persepctive if he doesn't go then he's played a blinder and he shouldn't be concerned with claims of bad faith. In his mind DL did it to him first.
